Monday Montage #194

I don't know about you guys, but I LOOOOOOVE the Olympics!! Winter or Summer ... every dang event! I am not usually one to watch sports on tv, but when the Olympics come around I am ALL OVER IT!! I may or may not have been screaming at my tv during the men's swimming 4x100 relay earlier tonight. It is super exciting!! It took me a while to finish my card this week because I was so distracted by what was happening on tv! Usually I just "listen" to tv whilst I am doing something else, but not today!! The next two weeks are gonna be fun!!

Not gonna lie ... this card is not really a "me" kinda card. I am usually all about layers, layers and more layers! I actually love how this turned out.  I sponged the edges of the white clouds with Balmy Blue, and the Balmy Blue cards with Balmy Blue and Whisper White.  I also added some Wink of Stella to the cloud edges as well, but that didn't show up as well in the photo.  Borrowed the Sweet Farewell set from my bestie, Bree Renwick. I need to mail it back to her, but I am really enjoying playing with it!

Stamps: Sweet Farewell
Paper: Balmy Blue, Whisper White
Ink: Balmy Blue, Whisper White, Wink of Stella
Accessories: Basic Borders Dies, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack (Faux Linen Ribbon - Dyed Balmy Blue with Sponge and Ink), Silver Epoxy Droplets

My husband and I went to our very first rodeo on Friday night.  We were gifted some tickets by a friend, so were happy for our "free" date night, which included dinner and VIP parking.  Honestly, neither of us was super stoked about the actual rodeo, but went because we could. HOLY COW! Neither of us expected to enjoy it nearly as much as we did!! WAY more fun that we thought it would be! I would even love to go to one again some time!! So the moral to this is NOT to predetermine that something you have never done before isn't going to be fun just because you have never done it!

Freakin' Animal Antics

I'm having a WEEK! Holy cow!! I am LATE getting my post up, mostly because I got stuck for HOURS last night about 26 miles from home due to some INSANE road construction on my way home from Bear Lake! I had planned to work on my projects, and instead I ended up watching "Quiet Place II" on my phone in my car because YES that is just how SLOW the traffic was!! Had to work today and run a couple of errands after work, so I was VERY late getting started! Looks like  Melissa Stout and I were feeling the same vibes for this month's "Animal Antics" theme, as we BOTH used the "Count On Me" set!! It's SOOOO cute!
These little dancing penguins remind me of "It's a Jolly Holiday" from the original "Mary Poppins" movie. That has long been a favorite of mine ... and I had to add some brightly primary colors because I just can't imagine these cute little penguins any other way!

Stamps: Count On Me
Paper: Whisper White, Poppy Parade,
Real Red, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, Pacific Point, Granny Apple Green, Watercolor
Ink: Black Memento, Versamark, Stampin' Blends in
Smoky Slate, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, Pacific Point, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party
Accessories: Stitched Triangle Dies, Messages Dies, Basic Borders Dies, Real Red Double Stitched Satin Ribbon, Whisper White Embossing Powder, Wink of Stella

I had to show y'all a close up so you could see the twinkly Wink of Stella on the penguins and balloons ... I love this sparkly stuff!!

I must apologize for this card.  I was nearly done with it when I realized (GASP!!) that the Well Suited DSP had RETIRED (I haz a sad!)!! Which is another reason I am late posting ... I needed to make something that didn't have any retired bits on it.

The first time I really "noticed" this adorable stamp set is when I saw the adorable tags made and posted by Esther Collmar from Germany! She made little DSP overalls for this stinkin' cute bear!! I knew I HAD to "copycat" her in some way, so here is what I came up with!

Stamps: Count On Me
Paper: Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White, Watercolor, Well Suited DSP (retired)
Ink: Black Memento, Stampin' Blends in Crumb Cake, Poppy Parade
Accessories: Basic Borders Dies, Stitched Whimsy
Dies, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Playful Alphabet Dies, Trio Corner Punch

The saga continues ... I went in for an MRI on my terrible-horrible-no-good-very-bad foot last Thursday. I have the privilege of going back to my foot doc tomorrow morning to see what the final verdict is (I'm thinking ... dare I say HOPING?) that surgery to correct whatever is messed up! After 18 months of anti-inflammatories, icing, heating, elevating, massaging, night splints, day splints, orthopedic boots, steroids and physical therapy, I feel that this will be the ONLY way I can start moving forward (and dare I say RUNNING???) and get my stinkin' life back to a more normal thing! Wish me LUCK!!

Lucky me because I am once again in the center of a "Melissa" sandwich! Next up is Melissa Davies! Her darling Turtle & Friends creations are spot on!! I love them, and you will, too!

Monday Montage #193

IT'S SO FREAKIN' HOT!!! Ok ... sorry for yelling at ya! I'm sure most of you are feeling the same exact way.  Like, I break into a sweat just SITTING! What is THAT all about??? To be fair, I'm still wearing an orthopedic boot on my super-dumb foot (and I don't think it is actually helping at ALL!)!! That thing is heavy and HOT! I haven't stamped for two weeks, either! I have spent the last nine nights sleeping on the couch at my mama's house while my brother (who lives with her) has been out of town. Going to be VERY nice to sleep in my own bed in my own house tonight!

This card looked a LOT better in my head. I guess it isn't horrible, but I was kind of disappointed with the end result, and too hot and tired to clean my craft room to make it easier to create, so this is what I got.  I FINALLY got my Expressions in Ink DSP that has been on backorder FOREVER. And it is lovely and beautiful and puts a smile on my face, so there's that.

Stamps: Elegantly Said
Paper: Polished Pink, Whisper White, Expressions in Ink DSP
Ink: Polished Pink, Versamark
Accessories: Scalloped Contours Dies, Elegant Tag Punch, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Simply Elegant Gold Trim, Artistry Blooms Adhesive Backed Sequins, Checks and Dots Embossing Folder, Gold Embossing Powder, Trio Corner Punch

I go back to the foot doc on Tuesday. I'm pretty sure he's gonna tell me that we need to do an MRI, which will probably lead to some sort of surgery. I am NOT HAPPY about this since I feel like a slug and haven't been able to do anything for MONTHS. UGH! Maybe I will get lucky and it will work itself out. What I REALLY need is a trip to Disneyland ... sigh ...
