Kitchen Sink Stamps has a monthly contest on their website that allows you the opportunity to win free stamps (and who doesn't like free??). I started entering last month, as there are a LOT of their stamp sets I would like to have, and getting them free is totally fun! I actually won last month in the "Fresh and Fun" design category (here's a link to my Fab Butterfly card). There are five categories in which you may enter: Fresh and Fun Design, Best Use of Color, Best Use of Sentiment, Thinking Outside the Box and Anything But a Card. I created two submissions this month. They will be posting the winners on their webste on October 1, so wish me luck (or just send some good kharma my way!).
This card works perfectly for my "Follow the Butterflies" challenge (in fact, this puts me up to card #58 - see link on the sidebar). I entered it in the Best Use of Color category. These stamps are so great because the make the image seem almost 3-dimensional. Each image has between 3 and 5 layers, each layer being a different stamp that you stamp over the previous image. Definitely not for wimps!! This also fit into WT185 - to add a charm to your card. I have a bunch of charms, and seem to hoard them, like so many other things. I thought that this butterfly was just right for this card.
Stamps: 3-step butterflies AND 3-step hearts & roses by Kitchen Sink

Accessories: microcheck gingham ribbon by Offray, curvy label punch, butterfly charm (unknown), dimensionals, paper distressing tool, Cuttlebug Leafy Branches ef
This was my second creation, which I submitted for Fresh and Fun Design. I had a heck of a time with the colors on this one, as I was trying to achieve a look created by JanTInk in this card. She graciously helped me out, as she is the Queen of Creativity and Color!! (Thanks, girlfriend!)
I also did a funky fold (and I TOTALLY love funky folds!!). I started with a piece of cardstock that was 10.5" x 5". You then score it at 1.25, 2.50, 4.25, 6.0. and 8.25. Fold it back and forth, like an accordion, to create peaks and valleys, and there you have it!!
I'll keep ya posted if I actually win anything!!
