I am currently eating my words . . . in fact, I am eating a LOT of them!! . . . in fact, I am having a veritable FEAST on them!! (Not quite as tasty as the feasts I am enjoying in the pictures on this digital scrapbook page, but a feast, nonetheless!)
While we were at Stampin' Up Convention during the first week of August they introduced us to My Digital Studio - Stampin' Up's answer to the digital papercrafting world. I remember distinctly that my brain went into "sleep" mode ... "Yeah-yeah-yeah," my brain thought. I said to my friend, "I have absolutely NO interest in this. I don't "do" digital scrapbooking." WhatEVER!!
After seeing some of the things that my fellow demos were creating with it, I figured it would at LEAST be worth a try. I ordered it while we were in Germany ... I even uploaded it onto my computer not long after we got home last week. And there it sat ...
As I have been struggling to regain some sense of normalcy with my sleep patterns (jetlag is a drag!), I was up the night before last at about 3:30 a.m. Think-think-think ... what CAN I do at 3:30 a.m.??? Laundry??? Noooooo!!! Cleaning???? Fuggedaboutit!! Paint the house? Don't have any paint ... Soooooooooooooooooooo - I pulled out my trusty laptop and started playing. SOMEBODY STOP ME!!! I am having waaaayyyyy too much fun with this!! I have created 7 pages thus far, and hope to have enough pages completed so that I can finish this off by Wednesday of next week (demos are being offered a little discount on printing/binding of their completed projects until September 30 - gulp!!).
I do not think that this will replace traditional scrapbooking for me, as I am a very tactile person. HOWEVER ... it would be a GREAT way to create memory books as gifts for grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles and VERY special friends (as I wouldn't do something THIS fab for just ANYone!). AND, you can make cards, too! Haven't tried that yet, but plan on doing it as well. WHAT FUN!!
Munch away, dude. Those pages are fantastic! I got my hands on MDS via a gift from a very generous friend. It's not available in Québec so I can't sell it but, boy oh boy, can i PLAY with it! I love it as well!

Great Job Wendy!! Your LO's look Fabulous!! Isn't it amazing how quickly you can do them! I love the freedom digital gives and you've gotta love the fact that it's all right there on the computer and no digging through stuff to find that one perfect embellishment!! LOL! (((Hugs)))
ReplyDeleteWowzers, Wendy...you are so right...these are great!! I think this may be my was of scrap booking! Need to give it a try! Thanks for the inspiration, my friend!!

Wow these pages are great! I can't wait to get this. You and Jan Tink have done some nice samples to convince me. I am Kathy Ostvig's friend in Waverly, MN. Nice talking to ya!
ReplyDeleteOh dear...you might tip the scales for me! I had NO intention of buying MDS...now I am reeeeeeeeeeealllllllly tempted!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Once you start scrapping digitally you may never go back to paper again. ;) I said it too, "I won't ever give up my paper." Four years later, I haven't scrapped a paper page since. It just seems odd to actually use "paper" when I can scrap and scrap to my heart's content and print as many copies as I want! Have fun. :D
ReplyDeleteWOW! Wendy, what a beautiful Page........Haven't surfed too much this summer, it's always nice to come back and see what you've been up to!
