A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away ... okay, well .... maybe not! But at least a few years ago I found a mui-lovely card on SCS that I knew I was just gonna HAFTA use as inspiration one day. Wellllll ... today is that day. Isn't this card love-er-ly??? I really am happy with how it turned out ('cept for the fact that the squares aren't exactly even). Here is the card, done by Melody Schwartz (aka lacyquilter) over on SCS:
Melody's Blue Tile Mosaic
Pur-de-ful, isn't it??? I was trying to figure out what to do with the little bit of "extra" space that I ended up with at the bottom of my card. I decided to try a border punch. After I punched it once smack-dab in the middle I decided that I kinda liked it like that, so that is how it stays ....
Stamps: Watercolor Trio, Bella Toile
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pacific Point
Ink: Pacific Point
Accessories: Large Oval Punch, Photo Corner Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Pearl Stickers, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Dimensionals
And today is kinda bittersweet at our house. Our dear, sweet and adorable German daughter - Coco - is headed back to her home in Munich tomorrow. She has been with us for a month and the time has just flown by. We have truly enjoyed the time she has spent with us and are trying to figure out how much money we would have to give her parents for them to let us KEEP her!!! We spent the better part of today up in Midway, Utah, where they were holding the annual Swiss Days Festival (it's all about fun, crafty booths, food, music and time spent with those you love). We now consider her part of our family and look forward to the time when we will be able to see one another again ... hugs to you, Coco!!
what a great picture of the three of you! Wonder who took it :) We had a fun day too!!!
ReplyDeletecute card - too tired to create tonight!
Wendy great card! I'll have to give it a try. Boy you are one busy lady. One thing after the other and now hosting an Intl student...what a great person you are. Great picture...she does look like she belongs LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy~
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo of the three of you! And, the "Swiss Festival?" Toberlone Chocolate is the best! (If only they made some for diabetics!) Coco probably had the best time ever this month thanks to you and your family. She was in the read "Ole West!" She was a pioneer, went in canoes like American Indians, and maybe she Yodeled! You are so giving. I know your daughter must appreciate all you have done to give all of the young women a fabulous summer!
Sweetie, this card is fabulous! I wish it came with instructions. I have no idea how you make something like this...and even attempt to get the squares straight. Do you stamp on each square? Or on a piece of paper and cut them into squares, and mat them on white paper? I am so confused, and this is SO beautiful! Share, GF, share! lol
Be well.

Love the card! Very elegant and striking!
ReplyDeleteBut not as lovely as that picture of you and your girls!
Hey Wendy, What a great job on this card. It's gorgeeeous! I think I would drive myself crazy trying to get all the squares straight. Hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the card! And I couldn't even tell that the squares were a bit off. I predict this card will be on my desk soon...
