Just a few photos to share with ya today ... I think I may actually live at this point. I wasn't so sure this past week as I have struggled with the throat "Gamboo" ... I HATE being sick!! No fun and SUCH a waste of time!!
This is a card I made for my cousin's birthday this week ... guy cards always seem to be so much work - I always have to think so much more in order to get a finished product. Why is that??? Could it possibly be that so many of my stamps are flowery??? Hmmm..... could be!!
Stamps: Plane & Simple
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, Crumb Cake, First Edition DSP
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Decorative Label Punch, Photo Corners Punch, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder, Paper Distressing Tool, Linen Thread, Paper Piercing Tool/Mat
And here are a few photos of what I made for Valentine's Day. I made these heart-shaped Rice Krispie treats for my girls at church. I used the coolest mini cake pan that I bought at Michael's on Saturday. It was a sticky, gooey process, but I think these turned out kinda fun (and the girls just gobbled them up!).
Here is what they looked like after I packaged 'em up ... kinda fun, don'tcha think??
Stamps: Filled With Love, Punch Bunch
Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso
Accessories: Large Heart Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Rhinestone Stickers, Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Cellophane Wrap, Silver Thread
And one last picture ... I also acquired another cool cake pan while I was at Michael's ... this one allows you to make a cake with a tunnel through the middle shaped like a heart, see??? I KNEW as soon as I saw it that my darling daughter would want to make a cake with it ... which she did ... right away!! Totally fun! And totally yummy! I took this picture with my phone, so the quality is not quite as good, but it was a red velvet cake with raspberry cream filling. YUMMMMMM!!!
Wow - this is such a beautiful card- love all the papers and things on it!
ReplyDeleteAnd the hearts look like I would love to bite into it at once! Is there a recipe for them somewhere?
Best wishes Ilo
Fantastic card! Love the colors and textures!
ReplyDeleteLove your card, the Krispy treats (those girls are gonna miss you big time!), and the cake!!! Makes me wish we were cake eaters. You're fab and I'm glad you're feeling better. A sick Wendy is a sad SLC!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the card...but I am curious...how did you make the strips seemingly so long with the designer label punch? Is there a trick I am missing? And once you tell me I will feel like a big dummy?? Thanks for the inspiration and help!!
ReplyDeleteThe recipe for the treats is just the basic one provided by Kellogg''s. I added red hots to it and then drizzled some melted semi-sweet chocolate chips on the top to fill in the heart shape. Here is the recipe:

As for the designer label punch ... my strips were only about 1" wide, so I just slipped the one end down into the punch from the back side and left the other end hanging out when I punched them. Hope that makes sense ... :)
So sorry you have been feeling ill, Wendy! I wish I had known, I would have sent a card.
ReplyDeleteThis post is overwhelming with love! I love the cake pan! And, what did you put inside those Rice Krispie Treat Hearts? They look scrumptious.
The masculine card is wonderful! I don't know why they take us forever to make? Maybe the companies should manufacture more masculine embellishments!

p.s. I have not received a notice of any posts having been made here. Am I still listed? I received one today, so I guess so!
