I've been TRYING to post all week ... but the fact of the matter is, everything I'm working on right now is kinda "unavailable for posting" ... swap cards for the Control Freaks for Convention? Can't post 'til AFTER I do the swapping!! Dirty Dozen projects?? Can only post those in the gallery over on SCS on the 15th ... Upcoming Control Freaks Blog Tour stuff??? Not yet!!
This is a really CRUMMY picture, too!! This is the card I did for the most recent Control Freak swap (we started out as a SUO swap group ... and still are one ... the Blog Tour is a relatively new-ish side thing!). I realized AFTER I mailed these babies that I didn't make one for myself ... and this is the photo I took of it with my PHONE to send to a friend to ask her opinion. Soooo .... this is as good as it gets (and it makes the Concord Crush look absolutely BLACK!!)!! Sigh ... oh well ...
And see all these EMPTY DVD cases??? This is what my project was last weekend! We took ALL of our movies that were on DVD, removed them from the cases, took out the cover art (which had to be cut down) and put them ...
... in HERE!! Actually, we filled two HUGE binder-thingys with them!!! I also typed up an alphabetical list for each book (and then spiral bound them, of course ... 'cause I have the equipment!). So now all of our movies are stored in a FRACTION of the space they used to be in!! It literally took my daughter and I ALL STINKIN' DAY to do this. Not even gonna admit how many DVD's we ended up having (but suffice it to say that you never realize exactly HOW many DVD's you have until you do a project like this ... and there are more than you think 'cause so many of them come with 2-3 DVD's in the case any more - digital copies, "special features" DVD's, BlueRay). Sooooo glad that's done!!
I gotta stampstampstamp for the next few days!! SOOooooo much to do before Convention starts next week!! Can't WAIT!! AND ... I got a BUNCH of fun new Stampin' Up stuff the other day in the first order I placed from the new catalog. In fact, I have spent more time STARING at the stuff and wondering where to start than I have actually STAMPING anything ... Stampery Overload!!!
Have a lovely weekend!

I've done that same thing to my DVD probably a year or so ago and love how little space it takes up. I have to binders full that hold 330 i think per binder. I have some of them double layered in their envelope. I haven't done this yet with my series and blurays just my normal ones. Plus i have a locker type box full of ones we don't watch and that holds 700 so I am right there with you with being a movie addict.
ReplyDeleteWendy...what are you going to do with all the empty cases? I would love to buy them from you...
ReplyDeleteHave a great time at convention...I just had ankle surgery so I can't go this year...

Love the dvd idea and the card cute technique withthe punches
ReplyDeleteGreat card! Gotta get this set. Now to the DVD's. I am also a movie addict and have been thinking of doing this, but might be hard to cut up that art. Do you have an idea of what to do with all the cases, or I noticed one lady wants to buy them. I would probably do this if I could come up with a good use for the boxes. Then I'd have 3 dvd racks to use for punches! If someone posts about this, please email me at stampindebs at aol dot com.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
Actually, Deb ... after much contemplation about it, I just decided to take the guilt off of myself. I recycled all of them!! I could have posted them on Craigs List or something, but the I woulda had to keep storing them ... and shipping them ... and feeling guilty staring at them ... so I just decided to go "green" and be done with it!! (And I was a little squeamish about cutting up all that art at first, but then I got over it!!) :)
