That's where my new eCutter is (it's a Silhouette Cameo!)!! I got it for Christmas!!! And it has been sitting here STARING at me for the past few weeks FROM INSIDE THE BOX!! (How is that even POSSIBLE ... well I HAD opened the lid, so it was more like it was PEEKING at me not STARING ...)
Well, the other night I FINALLY got it out of the box and got the software all set up and the machine all registered. And then ... I just STARED at it some more for TWO days. I wanted it to TELL ME what to do with it ... I wanted to have INSTANT EXPERTISE and how to make it run ... sigh ... but I was HAPPILY surprised at how easy it was to get rolling after a few quick tips from my BFF, Jane Lee (thanks, girl!)!! Can I now "officially" say I HEARTHEARTHEART this thing???? OHMYGOSH!!! It's DA BOMB!!!
I cut a couple of "nautical"-looking shapes from the "Anchors Away" MDS download ... I HEARTHEARTHEART that one, too!!! I made this card for my uncle's birthday ... which was last weekend ... which I totally am LATE getting to!! Sigh ... some weeks are just LIKE that!!!
Stamps: World Map, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Early Espresso, Naturals Ivory, Etcetera DSP
Ink: Baked Brown Sugar, Early Espresso
Accessories: Burlap Ribbon, Essentials Wooden Elements, Designer Naturals Button, Linen Thread, Gold Baker's Twine, eCutter
MDS: Anchors Away (Anchor and Helm)
Now I just have to DELIVER the card!!! Gonna do that later today!!!
I can totally relate! I got one too. Mine however did get out of the box on Christmas and was up and running on a cursory level. Now I just have to figure out how to really use it instead of ruining my cardstock!!! HELP!!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! The burlap ribbon brings it all together I think!
ReplyDeleteLove this card!
ReplyDeleteI am totally intimidated by the idea of the e-cutter, lol! Good job getting it to work! :)
Sigh...jealous...glad you got it out of the box ...this card is so nice

Wendy,
ReplyDeleteI got my Cameo last Christmas. I use it all the time. I suggest you get a subscription to the Silhouette Online store. They were on sale around Christmas and go on sale different times. For $9.99/month you get $25 worth of designs. Also weekly they have Weekly Clearance designs for 1/2 price! Thru out yr around each holiday designs go on sale for the holiday. Right now supplies for Cameo are on 30% off if you use code JESSICA on checkout at Silhouette America. Also if you do a search for "free svg" on web you can get lots of cool things. There are great tutorials on Pinterest and YouTube.
I too have a new Silhouette Cameo that is just sitting there starring at me. I at least pulled it out of the box, but that's about it. I really need a new laptop to go with it, so I'm waiting for a good deal. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI have one too Wendy. I received mine for my birthday in June. I love it! It can be a little intimidating at first. All I can say is, use it, make mistakes and learn. There's so many tutorials and classes out there to take. I would like to know how you used images from MDS on your silhouette. I also have MDS and would love to be inspired. Your card does just that. I love it! Will you share?

So sorry that you and your Cameo have had a mutual staring contest for a few weeks, but big pats on the back for actually working it - you did a wonderful job...! Am sure your uncle will love his card!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new Cameo! I got mine last Christmas and absolutely love it. One word of caution - be sure your machine is on a solid surface when you cut. Mine was on the same table that I used for my cricut. I had no problem cutting with the cricut but the vibration was too much for my cameo. Took me a while to figure it out.. Now it cuts great! Enjoy yours!
ReplyDeleteI just love your card. Would like to know how you use your MDS on your Silhouette too!! Maybe you could do a post about how you went about it. I know your busy!!I enjoy getting your e-mails. Because of all the eye candy that's in them!!
