I think I have mentioned before that the sketch challenges on SCS are my favorite challenge of the week . . . it's always fun to get new ideas for card layouts, as it is easy for me to repeat the same ol' thing time and again!
I just bought this "Terrific Tulips" set from a fellow SCS'er. It has been on my wishlist for quite a while, so I just decided to break down and buy it. It's a classic . . . I love almost every card I ever see made with it.
I have found that Garden Green is a darker version of Wild Wasabi, so I paired the two inks together for the greenery. I also paired Real Red and Purely Pomegranate for a fun duo. I wasn't sure it was going to work out, but I actually like them layered on one another.
Since the tulips are blooming in my yard, I thought today was as good a day as any to make some of my own. Spring is a-comin!
Stamps: Terrific Tulips, Fundamental Phrases, Houndstooth
Paper: Purely Pomegrante, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black, Shimmery White
Ink: Real Red, Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green
Accessories: Hodgepodge hardware, 1" and 1 1/4" circle punches, double stitched pomegranate ribbon, pop-up Glue Dots
I love the tulip foliage on the two back layers, Wendy. The red and pomegranate do work great together and great idea to use garden and wasabi green together.
ReplyDeleteI have seen many cards with this layout and I have to say that I have not been fond of any of them but yours. I didn't like the challenge layout at all this week but you did a great job. I love this card.
