Stampin’ Fancy Friday - Color Challenge

Mooooooo! How stinkin’ caYOOT is this little cow and his little chicken friends??? This month’s Stampin’ Fancy Friday Challenge is to pick a favorite color combo and incorporate it into our creations. I have ALWAYS loved the classic simplicity of black, white and red. This go-round I added a little splash of yellow to make it pop! These barnyard animals are PERFECT!!

This card was really pretty simple. I first cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4.25” x 11”. Instead of making a “vertical” card, I turned it on its side and made a horizontal card by folding back half of the top layer (also know as a “z-fold”). I then stamped all of the images using Black Memento ink (except the sunflowers and the sentiment - I used versamark and white embossing powder for those). I used the uber-cute Eyelet 3D embossing folder to embossing the folded back portion of the front left panel and also a little strip to put behind the milk can and the chickens.
The yellow bits on the chickens/roosters were made by stamping the images onto Lemon Lolly cardstock and THEN coloring for highlights with the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. Easy Peasy!

Stamps: Cutest Cows
Paper: Basic White, Basic Black, Real Red, Lemon Lolly, Bubble Bath, Smoky Slate
Ink: Versamark, Black Memento; Stampin’ Blends - Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate
Accessories: Cutest Cows Punch, Deckled Circle Dies, Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder, White Embossing Powder, Opal Rounds Assortment, Black and Very Vanilla 3/8" Large Checked Ribbon

Monday Montage #265

Hey-Howdy Friends! It’s Monday Montage time again and the team has cooked up some GOR-JUS cards for y’all to peruse … these ladies blow my mind on a regular basis!! Be sure to check out all of their projects!

I am forever thanking my stamping BFF’s for “enabling” me (and I am always happy to return the favor!). Bree (who you will see next!) is the one who finally pushed me over the edge on this bundle - Friends for Life! The stamps! The dies! Eeeeep! I went a little detail crazy on this one, as I cut the heart die from four different colors of cardstock and then put it all back together like a puzzle (with the help of some dimensionals to make the pieces stay in place!). I then broke out the coordinating colors of Stampin’ Blends to add some highlights to each of the pieces to give them more depth.

I frayed the edges of some Subtles DSP (Petal Pink) for the bottom layer. Perennial Postage Dies (LOVELOVELOVE) with a piece of Basic White cardstock and the Painted Texture Embossing Folder (also LOVELOVELOVE) created the next layer. Of course, I had to sneak in a little bit of my new favorite White 3/8” Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon … which I have been using on EVERYthing lately!

Stamps: Friends for Life
Paper:  Basic White, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink, Subtles DSP
Ink: Versamark; Stampin’ Blends - Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink
Accessories: Friends for Life Dies, Perennial Postage Dies, Painted Texture Embossing Folder, 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems, White Embossing Powder, White 3/8” Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon

Under the Sea!

Bubbles, bubbles and MORE bubbles! I have been seeing bubbles when looking at the Drizzling Droplets background stamp since the moment I got it! I LOVE the versatility! So I used the Submarine Life stamp set to create this little "under the sea" scene.

I realized AFTER I fussy cut the submarine and its parts and assembled my card I discovered that there was an accompany PUNCH for this set!! DUH!!! (I have since ordered said punch and it is nestled safely in my craft room for use the next time I pull out this cute little submarine! Two shades of blue (Azure Afternoon - my FAVE! and Brilliant Blue) as well as two shades of green (Old Olive and Garden Green) helped add depth and dimension. I also used the So Swirly embossing folder on the card base to add to the "water" effect ... I seem to be using it on most of my cards lately!!

Adding a few of the blue gems from the Opal Rounds Assortment helped the background pop even more1 Best thing?? I used one of the sketches at the bottom of page 22 in the new Annual Catalog for inspiration in creating this ... WIN/WIN!! If you haven't checked those out, you SHOULD!

Stamps: Submarine Life, Drizzling Droplets
Paper: Basic White, Azure Afternoon, Brilliant Blue, Daffodil Delight
Ink: Azure Afternoon, Old Olive, Garden Green, Pecan Pie, Versamark
Accessories: Deckled Rectangle Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, So Swirly Embossing Folder, White 3/8" Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon, Oval Rounds Assortment

Can't wait to play with this set again ... and use the PUNCH! (Although I have to admit that I find fussy cutting kinda therapeutic!)!

Monday Montage #264

Summer is just ZIPPING along and my quest to use all of my “unused” stamp sets is moving right along! This week as I play along with the Monday Montage ladies I am showcasing the new and adorable “Tune In” Bundle of stamps and dies!

I decided to go all retro with this card since the images were already in that vein. The colors make me sooo happy!

Using offset layers I went with Pumpkin Pie and some Regals DSP cut with a couple of the Deckled Rectangles Dies. I then used the Tune In Dies (along with some fussy cutting) to add all of the fun-colored television and accent elements.

My favorite element? The White 3/8” Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon! I used my Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Write Marker to make the fun “dot” pattern. The bonus part of this was the little “quasars” that appeared that mirror some of the stamped/diecut images in this set. I just dabbed the marker to the ribbon (originally intending to make polka dots) and watched in happy amazement as the little quasars formed instead!  Yay for happy accidents!

Stamps: Tune In
Paper:  Basic White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Azure Afternoon, Granny Apple Green, Regals DSP
Ink: Versamark, Basic Black and Azure Afternoon (for “Happy Birthday” and “Quasar\” images stamped inside the card; Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Write Marker
Accessories: Deckled Rectangles Dies, Tune In Dies, Transparent Adhesive-Backed Dots, White Embossing Powder, White 3/8” Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon
