... just slip a sable under the tree, for ME!! Been an awful good girl ... and so have all the Freaks!! You should have just come from the gift-a-licous blog of Lisa Young. We are doing our best to share some fun gift ideas, and she TOTALLY rocked it, don'tcha think???
I have been wanting to make an advent sorta calendar thing for quite some time. Actually, my DAUGHTER has been wanting me to make something for her room to help count down the holidays. This is what I came up with. In fact, both of my projects helped me use up a BUNCH of the most-fabulous "Deck the Halls" designer series paper (and both projects look like presents, too!). I used the Matchbox die to make 24 little tiny drawers to stash wonderful little treats in. I also used a little MDS on here ... can ya see it??? (I used the Schoolbook Serif stamps to print out the numbers small enough to fit in the 1/2" circle punch, then printed them out and VOILA!!) Just need to find some yummy things to fill the drawers with now!
Stamps: NONE!
Paper: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, Deck the Halls DSP
Ink: NONE!
Accessories: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke Seam Binding, Photo Corners Punch, Filigree Designer Brads, Antique Brads, 1/2" Circle Punch, Pearl Stickers, Illuminate Top Coat Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink, Matchbox Die
This little card is so fun to make, and surprisingly easy. (I will post some dimensions for you here later ...) In fact, when my friend saw it yesterday she decided she was going to place an order so she could make 35 of them herself to give away as their' family's Christmas card this year!! Hoooray!!!
And here is what the present looks like all opened up ... Fun, eh??
Stamps: Peaceful Season, Bells & Boughs
Paper: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Deck the Halls DSP
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Snowflake Punch, Decorator Label Punch, Wide Oval Punch, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, 1/2" Circle Punch, Gold Glimmerz Brad

What a wonderful count down drawer box!!! Love the card too!
What a great project! I just finished mine... finally decided to put little paper with stuff to do for the girls to get ready for Christmas... I've use a special ink pen. When you heat it, the ink desapear and you can see it again if you put it in the freezer! Since Santa come from the North Pole! :) I'm sure your daughter will love her calendar! Have a great day
Geezy peasy.....this is incredible--both the Advent box and the cute card! I have that die, too....maybe now my classes have ended, I can play and make something for ME!!!
Hi Wendy...the box is beautiful. I made one last year with an old SS Kit. It was pink, green, blue and red, so not nearly as elegant as yours, but I put the pop-up Christmas tree on top...it was a fun idea for a young audience.
Carmen

Wendy,
I am looking for the dimensions for the Christmas Present card that you did on Nov. 19, 2010. Can you please point me in the right direction to get them? I really really love that card and would like to try to make it. You advent drawer above the card is awesome! You are a very talented lady. I am kind of new to this and just found your blog. Thank you for sharing and showing us. Sandy
I am looking through this thread for the dimensions on the Christmas Present card. I do not see them. Does anyone have them please?
