Fab Friday #170

It's been a crazy week here. And it's Fab Friday already!! YAY!!! I have been making some cookies for a friend of mine ... her daughter is getting married next week and I am helping out. SO glad that cookies can be frozen ahead of time! I have made somewhere in the neighborhood of 26 dozen! The good news is that I am DONE!

I spent Wednesday night watching "Avengers: End Game" with a good friend of mine. Whilst we were sitting enjoying the view (I mean ... c'mon ... so many VERY attractive heroes to look at!), I decided I should get a head start and actually do my Fab Friday card before the 11th hour on Thursday night (which is more of the norm than I would care to admit!)! So here is what I came up with.

Stamps: Abstract Impressions
Paper: Petal Pink, Grapefruit Grove, Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushel, Whisper White
Ink: Petal Pink, Grapefruit Grove, Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushel, Wink of Stella
Accessories: Springtime Impressions Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine

I've never done this combo before. I LIKE it!

The countdown is on ... I am going with my BFF, Cheryl, to Disneyland at the end of the month for my (our) birthday!! Her birthday is actually TODAY, and mine is on the 28th! So we are going to go FOR THE DAY! How FUN is THAT??? (I kinda feel like I'm living "Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous when I go for just the day ... but it is SOOOOO great!)! Can you believe I haven't actually been to Disneyland ONCE this year (as in not ONCE since the calendar flipped to 2019). I decided I needed to fix that!

Monday Montage #139

Stamp-stamp-stamp!!! I have made THREE cards today ... which for me is VERY good!! The Monday Montage Girls are hopping today ... did you just come from Melissa's blog??? Did you think she was INCREDIBLE (as always)??? Yeah??? ME TOO!

I have been meaning to use this cute little stamp set since I won it for Prize Patrol at OnStage last month. I KNEW I wanted to use the little mailbox image, but I couldn't decide just what I wanted to do with it. I have a feeling I will be using this set a lot as the images are fun and it will make a bunch of great birthday cards!!

Stamps: Celebrate With Cake
Paper: Whisper White, Blueberry Bushel, Come Sail Away DSP
Ink: Blueberry Bushel, Lovely Lipstick, Early Espresso
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Dies, Decorative Ribbon Border Punch, Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots

Here's a blog roll just in case you get "stuck" trying to hop around ...

Fab Friday #156

Happy Fab Friday!!! I'm hoping this day finds you keeping yourselves WARM (especially my friends in the PolarVortex Midwest!)!! Lucky for us, the super-cold temperatures haven't gripped Utah. Question for the sub-sub-freezing peeps ... what do you do when your pets need to go potty??? -51 degrees outside seems it would be IMPOSSIBLE to let them out!! YIKES!!!

I was feeling the need for something evoking some warmer temperatures ... and this week's Fab Friday color combo made it EASY!!! I could've gone the "Valentine" route with these colors, but chose instead to bloom some flowers. What do you think??

Stamps: Incredible Like You
Paper: Whisper White, Grapefruit Grove
Ink: Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick, Blushing Bride
Accessories: Dot to Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Lovely Lipstick Grosgrain Ribbon, Pretty Label Punch

Pretty little combo, isn't it???

Let's Eat CAKE!

Cold, clear and beautiful ... that's what it's like outside here today!!! I think I'm going to have to go for a run at some point. I actually LOVE running in the cold. With the right gear, it's absolutely PERFECT. Brrrrr!!

I made this little card the other night ... just haven't had a chance to post it, yet! I am sooooooooo loving the Gingham Gala DSP (which YOU can earn for FREE by placing a $50 order!)!! It's just sooooo good!!

I used my Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends on the little flower, the edging on the cake, and to make the ombre effect on the CAKE letters. The outline is in Blackberry Bless ... I choose to believe this is a DELICIOUS purple cake!!! I love cake ... sigh ... perhaps I need to make one for myself today!

Stamps: Amazing Life
Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Grapefruit Grove, Whisper White, Gingham Gala DSP
Ink: Blackberry Bliss; Stampin' Blends - Rich Razzleberry, Wink of Stella
Accessories: Stitched Labels Framelits, Grapefruit Grove Nature's Twine, Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots

I am feeling pretty proud of myself! I had a BUNCH of new stamp sets (thanks to the Occasions/SAB preorder ... and again thanks to the Occasions/SAB catalogs going LIVE)! I mean ... I had a STACK!! I have used almost every last one ... I am down to about three sets, so stay tuned for some posts sharing those VERY soon!!! I feel validated in having ordered them all, because they will ALL get used!!!

A Challenging Day!!

I spent ALL DAY yesterday getting ready for my Book Group to come over (cleaning up the remainders of Christmas, cleaning up my house, making THREE different kinds of soup!)!! I've been in the same book group for over 27 years!! Seriously??? Is that even POSSIBLE??? I mean, I am ONLY 27 YEARS OLD!! Sheesh!! Luckily for me, I had this little card all ready to post! Which is GREAT since I was also the challenge hostess for today over on Splitcoaststampers!

I know I have mentioned here before that I STRUGGLE with "easy" or "clean and simple" cards. I mean, really ... I have just about every kinda fun tool and paper known on the planet, so it is hard to limit myself when I get to creating. This card is representative of what I call simple ... not a lot of crazy-weird techniques or fancy stuff. Although there ARE a lot of elements on here if you kind of count them ... but I'm not always so good at counting, so there's that!!

Stamps: Hello Cupcake
Paper: Lovely Lipstick, Early Espresso, Grapefruit Grove, Whisper White
Ink: Lovely Lipstick, Early Espresso Grapefruit Grove
Accessories: Stitched Labels Framelits, Grapefruit Grove Nature's Twine, Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots, Corrugated Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Trio Corner Punch

My son is taking his girlfriend to a Yule Ball tomorrow (you know what a Yule Ball is, don't you??? (If you are one of the 12 people on the planet who HAVEN'T read any Harry Potter ... a Yule Ball is a fancy dance/party hosted around the holidays.) Anyhow ... I am hemming a ball gown for his girlfriend's ROOMMATE to wear to the ball. And I haven't even started ... and it is TOMORROW (I said that, right??). And I have to work TODAY ... and she is supposed to come and pick the dress up TONIGHT!! Sigh ... why do I always do this kind of thing to myself??? Oh well!! At least she has promised to send me photos (which I know my son will forget to do!)! YAY!

Happy Weekending!!

Monday Montage #130

I feel like I have my crafty life back!!! I don't even remember when the last time I was able to create just for "fun" happened!! Granted, I am participating with my fellow Monday Montage friends on a blog hop today. HOWEVER ... I had this card actually DONE a couple of days ago!! How WEIRD is THAT???!!?? I was actually AHEAD of the game!!! I feel like I have entered the "Twilight Zone"!!

BUTTERFLIES!!! For any of you that have been following me for a LOOOOONG time ... you KNOW how I am about my butterflies!! I absolutely LOVE them!! (I have a friend who is actually kind of "afraid" of them ... so she won't touch ANY image or diecut or punch that resembles one ... go figure!) This diecut (it's GORJUS!!) is from the new Beauty Abounds Bundle ... you KNOW you need it, right??? And I have a "thing" for monochromatic cards ... I saw this in my head before I actually made it, and it turned out just about how I pictured it. That NEVER happens!!

Stamps: Beauty Abounds
Paper: Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Accessories: Trio Corner Punch, Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies, Tailored Tag Punch, Metallized Pearls

Here's a blog roll just in case you get "stuck" trying to hop around ...

Too Much??!?

Is there really such a thing as TOO MUCH when it comes to papercrafting??? I think NOT!!! Hahahaha ... actually, there IS!! But sometimes I have a hard time making the distinction as to when too much is just, well ... too much!! I love #allthethings ... paper, ribbon, ink, embellishment, embossing, diecuts! It's hard for me to staaaahhhhp sometimes.

Having said all that, I just kept on going whilst creating this little baby ... I stopped after the burlap ribbon and polka dot ribbon ... wait ... need some bakers twine ... nope ... needed more! Then I added the strip of gingham ribbon ... nope ... still needed MORE! The sentiment??? Almost there ... the little birdie!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE that little birdie peeking over at his elefriend! Still needed SOMEthing, right??? Added the pearls ... sigh ... still wanted to add MORE!!! The loops of linen thread were the last thing I added ... and THEN I finally declared this card FINISHED!!! Do you guys ever do that??? Most of the time I end up taking things back off and rearranging them ... not this time!

Stamps: Little Elephant
Paper: Very Vanilla, Blueberry Bushel, Petal Pink
Ink:  Blueberry Bushel, Petal Pink
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Tufted Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Classic Label Punch, Elephant Builder Punch, 5/8" Burlap Ribbon, Nature's Twine (Crumb Cake), Share What You Love Artisan Pearls, 5/8" Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, Linen Thread, Stapler

I'm off to do a training run ... can't WAIT for my puppy to be old enough to start running her with me! That's gonna be a while, so I will just play and snuggle with her for now instead!!!

Ta-ta!!!

What's Up, Freaky Dude?!??

Honestly?? My life is just NOT that interesting!! I think I have posted to my blog FOUR times this week ... and I have nothing "new and cool" to tell you! But the GOOD NEWS is that I am going to share what I made with you for this month's Control Freaks Blog Tour. I am on a ROLL lately!!! Probably because I have so many NEW and LOVELY things to play with!!! We are celebrating the "dudes" in our life this month by creating masculine projects. Did you just come from the blog of my friend, Melissa Stout??? She is SOOOOOO SOOOOOO good!!!

So I posted a photo here the first part of last week of the collage I made for my hubby's hangar wall. I had a BUNCH of pictures blown up (enlarged??!??) to frame and add to the collection. This scrapbook page was from an 8x10 that I ended up NOT using ... and it looks like it was MADE to go with the Best Route Suite, don't ya think??? The colors in the sky and the sign (and even from my t-shirt!) match the colors in the DSP sooooooooo perfectly!!! I couldn't resist!! And I think the new Corrugated Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder is going to be VERY well used at my house ... it's DA BOMB!

Stamps: Best Route
Paper: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Gray Granite, Whisper White
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, 1/2" Circle Punch, Classic Label Punch, Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Night of Navy Bakers Twine, 5/8" Burlap Ribbon, Stars Framelits (ok ... sorry that these are RETIRED ... but I couldn't help it on this layout ... it just NEEDED some STARS!)

This is what you call a "$100 card"!! I used so many different things on it, that I am SURE it is "cheaper to make your own card than to buy one in the store!" Hahaha ... we have all been there, haven't we??? I just kept going as thoughts were popping into my head while I was making this ... what can I say??? I LOVE my toys (TOOLS!!)!!

Stamps: Itty Bitty Greetings, Tree Rings
Paper: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede,
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Pinewood Planks Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Nature's Twine, 5/8" Burlap Ribbon

Next up???  ... incredible Kelly Acheson!! You are just gonna LOVE what she has made!!

Fab Friday #144

I should be exercising ... or doing laundry ... and there's always my bedroom that could use a good once-over! INSTEAD ... I am typing up this blog post because it's more FUN!! Especially since I got to play with some paper today (AFTER I spent half the day at my mama's house helping her with some cleaning). I really am liking having a clean craft room ... it's FUN!

Which brings me to this week's Fab Friday Challenge ... and a challenge it WAS (at least for me!!)!!! The colors were screaming "CHRISTMAS" ... and I'm just not quite ready to go "all in" just yet. So I tried to do something that looked UNChristmas-y!! I haven't used the Eastern Beauty stamp set NEARLY as much as I should have ... It's kind hard to screw it up! You just keep stamping and stamping and stamping ... and everything looks pretty in the end!

Stamps: Eastern Beauty
Paper: Whisper White, Lemon Lime Twist, Vellum
Ink: Call Me Clover, Lemon Lime Twist, Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade
Accessories: Eastern Medallions Framelits, 1/2" Circle Punch, 1/4" Circle Punch, Trio Corner Punch,  Banner Duo Punch, 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon

This also looks like a watermelon ... kinda ... don'tcha think??? (Of COURSE I can see that NOW!!)

Monday Montage #122

GEEEE WHIZZZ!!! This past week was SOOOOOO very crazy-busy in my life!!! Between work, helping out my mama, attending events for family and friends and working on a project for my hubby's birthday, I am WIPED OUT!!! Luckily, I had enough energy left to create a card for this week's Monday Montage Blog Hop!

If it looks ANYthing like an airplane ... or ANYthing like something that will fly?? Yeah ... I'm-a buy that!!! Which is why the Best Route Suite that came out in this year's catalog was at the TOP of my list of things I needed to get ... like RIGHT NOW!!! Since my hubby has his private pilot's license and spent 10 years building is own airplane, you could say that aviation is a big deal at my house. We spent a good chunk of the day last Saturday doing what is known as a Young Eagles Fly-In. We round up pilots from our local EAA Chapter (Experimental Aircraft Association). They volunteer their time, their planes and their fuel to fly kids between the ages of 8 and 17. The primary goal is to get the next generation pumped up about aviation. It worked brilliantly ... FIVE pilots flew 135 young eagles!!! It was a long, hot and exhausting day ... and TOTALLY worth it!!!

Which brings me to this little gem of a card. Between the Young Eagles rally and the collage I created for my hubby's birthday to hang on the wall in his hangar (stay tuned ... I'll share photos in my next blog post), I have airplanes on the brain!

Stamps: En Route
Paper: Whisper White, Blueberry Bushel, Best Route DSP
Ink:  Gray Granite, Pineapplej Punch, Mango Melody, Blueberry Bushel
Accessories: 3/4" Circle Punch, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Trio Corner Punch, Maps, Etc. Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon

Who loves a GOOD challenge??!!?? I know that I DO!!!! This week's Fab Friday Challenge is for YOU, baby!! We are doing a color challenge ... and it's actually quite pretty ... but I know that I stared at it for QUITE a while before I felt the inspiration to make something!!! So without further adieu, let's get started!!

I was struggling with the Mossy Meadow in this color combo ... and I'm not quite sure WHY!!! Everything I was putting together just was NOT working ... until I pulled out the "May Flowers" Framelits dies! And the Subtle 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is to DIE for you guys!!! Seriously ... you NEED it!! It's FANTABULOUS!!!

Stamps: Handwritten, Itty Bitty Greetings
Paper: Crumb Cake, Tranquil Tide, Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow, Powder Pink, Vellum
Ink: Crumb Cake, Tranquil Tide
Accessories: May Flowers Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, 3/8" Burlap Ribbon, Crumb Cake Baker's Twine, Linen Thread, Classic Label Punch

My hubby and I are going to be on the road again this next week! He has always had an obsession with airplanes. He spent TEN YEARS building his own airplane (and YES ... I am TOTALLY SERIOUS!!!). The BIGGEST, most INCREDIBLE airshow for aviators who build their own airplanes is held every year in Oshkosh, Wisconsin ... and he has been DYING to go for over 20 years!!! So NOW we are actually DOING IT!!! I'll tell y'all about it when we get back!!

Summer Bouquet

It is getting SOOOO hot! Every. Dang. Day. Yesterday we got over 100 degrees Fahrenheit! I spent a good portion of Friday hanging out in my basement ... with a very large fan blowing some LESS-hot air on my whilst I decided to stamp in the cooler temps!

When I originally order the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set, I thought I had ordered the "bundle" ... ya know how ya can ... because getting the stamps and the dies at the same times just makes sense, right??? And because not a SINGLE one of us has EVER forgotten to order the "bundle" together ... or has ordered something that we already own ... right??!??

Supplies: Beautiful Bouquet
Paper: Whisper White, Petal Pink, Crumb Cake, Tranquil Tide DSP
Ink:  Petal Pink, Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Basic Black
Accessories: , Stitched Labels Framelits Dies, Bouquet Bunch Framelits Dies, Linen Thread, Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

It's supposed to be even HOTTER today than it was yesterday ... oh JOY!!! Actually, I do love the summer weather. It makes it very hard to feel motivated to do anything besides stamp (or binge watch Netflix!) in our cooler basements! Hopefully I'll be able to get through my "to-do" list Hmmmmm ... perhaps a nap may happen at some point this weekend?? That sounds very sensible of me, don't you think??!??

Summer is in FULL swing here in Utah!! And so is stamping!!! Who wants to come over and play??? So much pretty paper, stamps, and ink!! Bring it ON!!! The Monday Montage Girls sure are in full swing with some GORJUS creations!

We are coming up on one of my personal favorite holidays - 4th of July - Independence Day!!! So my card today is reflecting my patriotic vibes ... a little red (well, actually Luscious Lipstick), white and blue (aka Night of Navy). So while this card isn't OVERTLY a "4th of July" card, it is evoking the patriotic feel ... and I think it's kind of fun!!

Stamps: Itty Bitty Greetings, Burlap Backgrounds
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Night of Navy, Luscious Lipstick
Ink:  Night of Navy, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies, Classic Label Punch, Linen Thread, Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon
