Hot Air Balloons & Clouds

This is the card I did for the most recent Control Freak Swap ... many of you many NOT know that the Control Freaks started as, and continue to be, a swap group. Our Blog Tour is relatively new, since the group has been around for several years, but the Blog Tour is only a couple of years old. Cool, eh?

The inspiration for this card came from my good friend, Kim Smith (a stampin' WIZARD, in my opinion!). The cloudy sky was created with the scallop circle punch and a sponge ... then the wheat field was one of the images from Nature Walk. Ink it, then stamp it three times (before reinking it) in different places to give it the appearance of depth ... do this several times ... thanks for the great idea, Kim!!

I also lamented the fact that we do NOT have a balloon punch while I was making 23 of these babies ... then I came up with a stroke of GENIUS. I found a way to cut the balloons out a little more quickly ... but you're gonna hafta wait 'til I show ya. I'll film something later today and try to have it up for you by tomorrow. LOVE when I can find things that create a bit of a short cut when it comes to cutting ... YAY!!

Sooooo ... stay tuned ... Smiley from millan.net

Is the cutting idea vegetable, mineral or electric? LOL

This is a beautiful card! I love how the field looks...all of that depth! Wendy, can you tell me how you made that design behind the circle that says, "happy birthday to you!"? It is beautiful!
