Monday Montage for Fall!

Where does the time go??? To be fair,I know we are into “fall”, but it has still be in the 90s here in Salt Lake City. Crazy, right??? Couldn’t wait any longer to make a true “fall” card, so here we are!

Eeep! Yikes!! And OH MY GOODNESS!! The More Than Autumn Bundle (which is an online exclusive) is just soooo yummy I can almost taste it! (Seriously, I expected this card to actually SMELL like pumpkin spice once I had finished it!).

I used a combination of textures and layers to get to the end of this card … embossing folders, dies, stamps and twine!!). I just wanna like that whipped cream off the top of this thing!

I used the Designer Tags Dies to make
the layer in the background using the A Little Latte DSP.

I couldn’t help using some fussy cutting to add some sentiments to my sentiment tag (does that make sense?).

And the two-tone leaves??? Yeah, you are going to see me do this again because I love it!!

Stamps: More Than Autumn
Paper:  Basic White, Pecan Pie, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, A Little Latte DSP
Ink: Pecan Pie, Cajun Craze

Monday Montage #268

It’s Monday Montage time again! I was out of town a bunch in August and didn’t get to play along last time, so I’m happy to be back!

I really love it when a card comes together and is as good (or better) than you picture in your mind … which doesn’t happen to me NEARLY enough! This is one of those time, though!

I wanted to make the ducks from the Charming Duck Pond Bundle look like they were actually a piece of DSP rather than individual ducks. In the end, this is more of a 3D version of what I had envisioned but I am really happy with the result. The only thing this card takes is a little bit of patience with die cutting, as there are LOTS of ducks and NO stamping!!

I cut out a whole stack of ducks first using Gray Granite, Balmy Blue, Peach Pie and Pretty Peacock. Then I set to making all the little ducks by layering the pieces I had cut out. I made a “frame” for the ducks using the circle/lily pond die from the same die set. Don’t they look cute??

Keeping it simple for the rest of the card, I just cut out the “friend” sentiment from the Friends for Life dies and added a few “Blooming Pearls” embellishments which actually make the Pretty Peacock elements just pop off the page!

I have many little ducks left over, so I will probably be making another card with them very soon!

Stamps: NONE
Paper:  Basic White, Pretty Peacock, Peach Pie, Balmy Blue, Gray Granite, Granny Apple Green
Ink: NONE
Accessories: Charming Duck Pond Dies, Friends for Life Dies, Blooming Pearls, White 3/8” Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon

Stampin’ Fancy Friday - Celebrate!

Hey stampin’ friends! The last few weeks have been CA-RAY-ZY!!!! So happy to be back home and able to share what I created for this month’s Stampin’ Friday Challenge! This month we are evoking all things celebratory!

Nothing says “celebration” to me more than a big bunch of flowers! Birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s/Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day … the list goes on! The flowers from the “Market Goodness” bundle are perfect! I used both the Deckled Rectangles and Circles to make the layers.

There are only two little bits of stamping on this card - the sentiment and the little “x’s” in the background! The rest of it is just cardstock and some of the lovely Market Goodness DSP (along with a little die cutting and fussy cutting!)!

Stamps: Market Goodness
Paper: Basic White, Garden Green, Market Goodness DSP
Ink: Versamark, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, Blackberry Bliss
Accessories: Deckled Rectangle Dies, Deckled Circle Dies, Transparent Adhesive Backed Dots, White Baker’s Twine

Monday Montage #266

Whoosh! And just like THAT summer is just about over! Sheesh! So happy that I got a new box of goodies over the weekend so I could play with them for this week’s Monday Montage!

I was looking back through some old photos and came across a technique I did on a card YEARS ago … which inspired me on this card! I didn’t use the same technique, but I kinda made up a new one myself!

Stick with me here … first, I embossed a piece of Basic White cardstock using the 3D Eyelet Embossing Folder. I then inked up the Leaf Collection background stamp with Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lolly and Pumpkin Pie. Next, I placed the piece of Basic White (with the 3D Eyelet embossing) face down onto the stamp. I then carefully held the cardstock down while I used my brayer to press the cardstock into the stamp. With me so far?

Finally, after lifting up the Basic White cardstock piece I could see that the pattern from the 3D Eyelet Embossing Folder was evident on the inked background stamp, so I placed a clean piece of Basic White cardstock down onto the stamp and used the brayer again to transfer the ink. Get it?? So the pattern from the embossing folder shows up in the stamped image! Pretty cool, right??

Here is a closeup view of the effect. I really like how it turned out!

I made two pockets using the Pocket Thoughts Dies … one in Granny Apple Green, which I embossed with the 3D Eyelet Embossing Folder, and one from the stamped piece that I did earlier. I made inserts for each of the pockets as well. They can both be written on, as well as the inside of the card!

Used my favorite White 3/8” Grosgrain Frayed Ribbon to make a bow. Oh! And I also used the Keeping Tabs Bundle to create the sentiment … I love it!

Stamps: Leaf Collection, Keeping Tabs
Paper:  Basic White, Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Lolly
Accessories: 3D Eyelet Embossing Folder, Keeping Tabs Dies, Blooming Pearls, White 3/8” Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon

Stampin’ Fancy Friday - Color Challenge

Mooooooo! How stinkin’ caYOOT is this little cow and his little chicken friends??? This month’s Stampin’ Fancy Friday Challenge is to pick a favorite color combo and incorporate it into our creations. I have ALWAYS loved the classic simplicity of black, white and red. This go-round I added a little splash of yellow to make it pop! These barnyard animals are PERFECT!!

This card was really pretty simple. I first cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4.25” x 11”. Instead of making a “vertical” card, I turned it on its side and made a horizontal card by folding back half of the top layer (also know as a “z-fold”). I then stamped all of the images using Black Memento ink (except the sunflowers and the sentiment - I used versamark and white embossing powder for those). I used the uber-cute Eyelet 3D embossing folder to embossing the folded back portion of the front left panel and also a little strip to put behind the milk can and the chickens.
The yellow bits on the chickens/roosters were made by stamping the images onto Lemon Lolly cardstock and THEN coloring for highlights with the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. Easy Peasy!

Stamps: Cutest Cows
Paper: Basic White, Basic Black, Real Red, Lemon Lolly, Bubble Bath, Smoky Slate
Ink: Versamark, Black Memento; Stampin’ Blends - Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate
Accessories: Cutest Cows Punch, Deckled Circle Dies, Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder, White Embossing Powder, Opal Rounds Assortment, Black and Very Vanilla 3/8" Large Checked Ribbon

Monday Montage #265

Hey-Howdy Friends! It’s Monday Montage time again and the team has cooked up some GOR-JUS cards for y’all to peruse … these ladies blow my mind on a regular basis!! Be sure to check out all of their projects!

I am forever thanking my stamping BFF’s for “enabling” me (and I am always happy to return the favor!). Bree (who you will see next!) is the one who finally pushed me over the edge on this bundle - Friends for Life! The stamps! The dies! Eeeeep! I went a little detail crazy on this one, as I cut the heart die from four different colors of cardstock and then put it all back together like a puzzle (with the help of some dimensionals to make the pieces stay in place!). I then broke out the coordinating colors of Stampin’ Blends to add some highlights to each of the pieces to give them more depth.

I frayed the edges of some Subtles DSP (Petal Pink) for the bottom layer. Perennial Postage Dies (LOVELOVELOVE) with a piece of Basic White cardstock and the Painted Texture Embossing Folder (also LOVELOVELOVE) created the next layer. Of course, I had to sneak in a little bit of my new favorite White 3/8” Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon … which I have been using on EVERYthing lately!

Stamps: Friends for Life
Paper:  Basic White, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink, Subtles DSP
Ink: Versamark; Stampin’ Blends - Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink
Accessories: Friends for Life Dies, Perennial Postage Dies, Painted Texture Embossing Folder, 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems, White Embossing Powder, White 3/8” Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon

Under the Sea!

Bubbles, bubbles and MORE bubbles! I have been seeing bubbles when looking at the Drizzling Droplets background stamp since the moment I got it! I LOVE the versatility! So I used the Submarine Life stamp set to create this little "under the sea" scene.

I realized AFTER I fussy cut the submarine and its parts and assembled my card I discovered that there was an accompany PUNCH for this set!! DUH!!! (I have since ordered said punch and it is nestled safely in my craft room for use the next time I pull out this cute little submarine! Two shades of blue (Azure Afternoon - my FAVE! and Brilliant Blue) as well as two shades of green (Old Olive and Garden Green) helped add depth and dimension. I also used the So Swirly embossing folder on the card base to add to the "water" effect ... I seem to be using it on most of my cards lately!!

Adding a few of the blue gems from the Opal Rounds Assortment helped the background pop even more1 Best thing?? I used one of the sketches at the bottom of page 22 in the new Annual Catalog for inspiration in creating this ... WIN/WIN!! If you haven't checked those out, you SHOULD!

Stamps: Submarine Life, Drizzling Droplets
Paper: Basic White, Azure Afternoon, Brilliant Blue, Daffodil Delight
Ink: Azure Afternoon, Old Olive, Garden Green, Pecan Pie, Versamark
Accessories: Deckled Rectangle Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, So Swirly Embossing Folder, White 3/8" Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon, Oval Rounds Assortment

Can't wait to play with this set again ... and use the PUNCH! (Although I have to admit that I find fussy cutting kinda therapeutic!)!

Monday Montage #264

Summer is just ZIPPING along and my quest to use all of my “unused” stamp sets is moving right along! This week as I play along with the Monday Montage ladies I am showcasing the new and adorable “Tune In” Bundle of stamps and dies!

I decided to go all retro with this card since the images were already in that vein. The colors make me sooo happy!

Using offset layers I went with Pumpkin Pie and some Regals DSP cut with a couple of the Deckled Rectangles Dies. I then used the Tune In Dies (along with some fussy cutting) to add all of the fun-colored television and accent elements.

My favorite element? The White 3/8” Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon! I used my Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Write Marker to make the fun “dot” pattern. The bonus part of this was the little “quasars” that appeared that mirror some of the stamped/diecut images in this set. I just dabbed the marker to the ribbon (originally intending to make polka dots) and watched in happy amazement as the little quasars formed instead!  Yay for happy accidents!

Stamps: Tune In
Paper:  Basic White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Azure Afternoon, Granny Apple Green, Regals DSP
Ink: Versamark, Basic Black and Azure Afternoon (for “Happy Birthday” and “Quasar\” images stamped inside the card; Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Write Marker
Accessories: Deckled Rectangles Dies, Tune In Dies, Transparent Adhesive-Backed Dots, White Embossing Powder, White 3/8” Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon

Stampin' Fancy Friday - Annual Fav

Today it's my turn to play with the Stampin' Fancy Friday Team!

How do you pick a FAVORITE when the new catalog comes out with soooooo many pretty thing in it??? It's VERY difficult! I would have to say my favorite product is the Adventurous Sky bundle of goodies! The stamps, dies and DSP are all PERFECT! I wanted to showcase as much as I could in one card, so let's get started!

I built the background of this card first with a layer of Smoky Slate cardstock embossed with the So Swirly 3D Embossing Folder (which was roughed up around the edges with my snips). Then, I used several strips of the Take to the Sky DSP to create a backdrop accented by some Black and Very Vanilla 3/8" Large Check Ribbon. After securing the strips to a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock, I ran the whole piece through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine and one of the Deckled Circle Dies. I am not gonna lie ... I LOVE how this turned out!

I sponged a little bit of Balmy Blue ink around the edges of the clouds for fun!

The sentiment panel was just a scrap of Basic Black cardstock stamped with Versamark and White Embossing Powder.

Lastly, I placed a few of the clear embellishments from the Opal Rounds Assortment and VOILA! This really came together more quickly than it appears ... it's fun when THAT happens!

Stamps: Adventurous Sky
Paper: Basic White, Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Cajun Craze, Basic Gray (for the propeller), Take to the Sky DSP
Ink: Versamark, Balmy Blue
Accessories: Adventurous Sky Dies, Deckled Circle Dies, White Embossing Powder, Opal Rounds Assortment, Black and Very Vanilla 3/8" Large Checked Ribbon, So Swirly 3D Embossing Folder

TGIF Challenge #479 - Sweet Treats

Thank goodness it’s Friday … that means it’s time for the TGIF Challenge!! This is going to be a fun week because it’s all about Sweet Treats!!

I’ve had this bundle for MONTHS and have not felt motivated to make something with it! Each and every time I have pulled it out I haven’t been able to find the mojo to make it work. This baby is all about LAYERS!! Using a combo of things from the Simply Sparkling stamps and dies and the Everyday Details Dies (which is quickly becoming my most favorite “go to”!)! Three panels of alternating Petunia Pop and Bubble Bath cut using the Everyday Details die are topped with a frame I made using the same dies. The circle from the dies was also used for the “fizztastic” sentiment. The “birthday wishes” sentiment was cut out using one of the Stylish Shapes Dies.

I used some Bubble Bath ink to stamp the little bubbles behind the strawberries on the can. The clear Adehesive-Backed Sparkle Gem looks like an actual carbonated bubble … love it!

Stamps: Simply Sparkling
Paper: Basic White, Garden Green, Petunia Pop, Bubble Bath, Silver Foil
Ink: Purple Posy, Bubble Bath,Versamark
Accessories: Simply Sparkline Dies, Everyday Details Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder, Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems, Petunia Pop Bordered Ribbon

The bright color combo on this makes me smile … so fun and happy! Be sure to check out the other creations from the TGIF Design Team and play along!

Monday Montage #263

It’s a great day for some Monday Montage creativity! With all the crazy I’ve had this past week, I am SO happy that I had a card to share that I hadn’t yet posted … haven’t had time to play in several days!

First I started with the Simply Zinnia dies. I LOVE zinnias and really wanted to make some that would just pop off the page - Blackberry Bliss, Petunia Pop and Berry Bliss filled the bill quite nicely. I used both Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lolly to create the little “ring” around the center of each flower. I cut the greenery from some Garden Green cardstock.

Next, I created a watercolor backdrop using Daffodil Delight, Berry Burst and Bubble Bath ink and a water painter. I then splattered a little bit of alcohol on top of the backdrop to add to the depth of the watercolor.

I used the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder to create the little sentiment panel, which I then sponged with a little bit of Blackberry Bliss ink. I couldn’t help but use my favorite “flicking” technique and a Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write marker to create the splatters … I love the way this one turned out (as I don’t often have great results when I try to be all “artsy” and do some water coloring!).

Stamps: None!
Paper:  Berry Burst, Petunia Pop, Blackberry Bliss, Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lolly, Basic White, Watercolor
Ink: Berry Burst, Daffodil Delight, Blackberry Bliss, Bubble Bath
Accessories: Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder, Simply Zinnia Dies, Everyday Details Dies, Water Painter, Basic White Baker’s Twine, Transparent Adhesive-Backed Dots, Rubbing Alcohol

Doooooooonuuuuutttsss!!!

I feel like Homer Simpson! I love me a beautiful box of  FRESH donuts (I can personally slam down half a dozen glazed Krispy Kremes on a 45-minute drive from Provo to Salt Lake … ask me how I know for sure!)! So I’m staring at the images in the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle and I am just fixated on the one little bitty donut stamp and coordinating die … and all I can think about is eating a box of fresh donuts! Soooo … I made one instead!!!
After stamping several donuts I colored them with my Stampin’ Blends. Then I built the donut box!

I used the Deckled Rectangles and cut a frame using two of them of graduated sizes. I also cut a rectangular piece of Crumb Cake to put underneath the donuts as a base.

I ended up using a double Dimensional (one of top of another) to prop up each of the corners of the box “lid” to make them higher than the donuts, which I also put on one layer of Dimensionals.

I then cut a piece of window sheet to put behind the frame I made for the upper box lid. A layer of Pretty in Pink embossed with the So Swirly embossing folder added a good overall background, don’t you agree?

Stamps: Ice Cream Swirl, Happy Little Things
Paper: Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Window Sheet
Ink: Black Memento; Stampin’ Blends - Pretty in Pink, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, Lemon Lolly
Accessories: Ice Cream Swirl Dies. Deckled Rectangle Dies, So Swirly Embossing Folder, Black & Very Vanilla 3/4” Large Check Ribbon, Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems

Now I need to go buy some donuts … or maybe not … because I KNOW I will eat too many!!

TGIF Challenge #477 - Sketch Challenge

It’s TGIF Challenge time! I have always loved me a good sketch challenge … and this week’s sketch was so much fun!

I knew as soon as I saw this sketch that I wanted to use the Market Goodness Suite! I could easily picture a bag of veggies as the focal point. I also used the Everyday Details Dies to created the backdrop for directly behind the grocery bag. I used some of the To Market DSP to fill the circle and create a strip to accent the focal image.

Using one of the Fun Patterns embossing folders was a no brainer on this one … the flowers were a perfect match for the itty bitty flower dies.
I also roughed up the top and bottom edges of the Crumb Cake panel and the Garden Green DSP strip with my paper snips.

Isn’t this cute?? For the sentiment I used Versamark/White Embossing Powder and just ripped around the edges.

A couple of staples in the ribbon finished off the look. What do you think??

Stamps: Market Goodness
Paper: Crumb Cake, Blackberry Bliss, Pecan Pie, Whisper White, Lemon Lolly, To Market DSP
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Garden Green, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Versamark
Accessories: Market Goodness Dies, Everyday Details Dies, Fun Patterns Embossing Folder, Natural 3/8” Polka Dot Trim, Transparent Adhesive Backed Dots, Stapler

Any plans this weekend?? I am going to be in the garden first thing Saturday morning while it is still cool outside … some weeds have started to sprout up and I need to get them out of there!!

Monday Montage #262

It’s soooo great when Monday Montage rolls around and I’m READY ahead of time!! I had my card done for DAYS and I couldn’t be happier!

How DARLING is this little dragonfly??? She comes from Happiest Day! I wanted the dragonfly to be the focal point of today’s creation, and I think the flower dies from Country Flowers are the perfect little garden for her to fly around in!

I created a little backdrop using watercolor paper and a water painter.  I just dabbed the tip of my water painter directly onto the Highland Heather and Fresh Freesia ink pads and then brushed the color around on the paper. I also splattered a little bit of alcohol over the paper, as well as a little bit of splatter from both colors using Stampin’ Write Markers.

I used my snips to rough up all the edges on my layers, which I love doing!

Stamps: Happiest Day, Country Flowers
Paper:  Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia, Basic White, Watercolor
Ink: Versamark, Black Memento, Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia; Stampin’ Blends - Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia
Accessories: Country Flowers Dies, Water Painters, White 1/4” Diagonal Trim, Blooming Pearls, White Embossing Powder
