Monday Montage #74

It's Monday Montage time again!!! And I have spent the WHOLE day with a GNARLY headache!!! Thank HEAVEN for this project that I had never posted from my OnStage display projects (and yeah ... you can TELL that's it's a little behind since we are currently in the middle of a SCORCHING summer!)!

See what I mean??? But this DID hang on my door until the Fourth of July, so I actually DID use it and LIKE it!! Sadly, the "Little Letters" Thinlits have retired since I made this ... BOOHOO!!

Stamps: NONE!
Paper: Flirty Flamingo, Blushing Bride, Emerald Envy, Whisper White, 2016-2018 InColor DSP Stack
Ink: NONE
Accessories: Bontanical Builder Thinlits Dies, Blushing Bride Sequin Trim, Hello You Thinlits, Little Letters Thinlits (retired), Circle Framelits, Flirty Flamingo Ruched Ribbon, Simply Scored

Took a VERY long nap today ... and had one of those "can't-escape-EVERYthing-bad-and-stressful" dreams ... woke up with an even BIGGER headache!!! I'm going to bed VERY early because I have a 1/2 Marathon to run in the morning and have to be at the pickup point by 4:00 AM!!!! UGH!!!

Click "Back" for Melissa Stout and "Next" for Amy O'Neill ... GREAT way to spend Monday Montage AND Pioneer Day here in Utah!!!

Smiley from Millan.NetIt's SOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOTTTT!!!! I'm MELTING!!! I'm MELTING!!! Whataworldwhataworld!!! Hahahaha!!! Maybe SOME of you will get that movie line/quote (hint-hint ... it's kinda where my blog got it's name!!)! We've been pushing 100 degree PLUS here in Salt Lake City every dang day!! So when I looked at this week's colors and saw CHRISTMAS in JULY ... I just wasn't feeling the vibe ... so I went with summer instead!!

Stamps: Fresh Fruit, Gorgeous Grunge
Paper: Very Vanilla, Garden Green, Real Red
Ink: Garden Green, Real Red, Wink of Stella
Accessories: Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Squares Framelits, Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, Silver Sequin Trim

These colors really work ANY time of the year, right???

Maybe I will go to the store and buy one of those kiddie pools ... and then fill it up with ICE and jump IN!!! Sheesh!!! I have a half marathon to run with my son on Monday (really excited about THAT!)!! I'm hoping that the fact that we are starting at 6:00 am up the canyon is going to help the temperature (it SHOULD!)!!

Control Freaks "Free for All"

Happy Control Freak Blog Tour Day!! I had to take a break from cleaning my bedroom and TOTALLY reorganizing my closet (it was SO hard to break away, I tell ya) to sit down and play with some stamps! If you've been hopping around, you just came from the incredible Connie Babbert!!! She ALWAYS comes up with beautiful creations!! Stamping was WAY more fun than reorganizing my closet ... and doing laundry ...

This month we are having a sort of "free-for-all" ... which basically just means that everyone could make ANYthing they wanted to (as long as they were using stuff from the current Stampin' Up catalog). Not hard at ALL!!! I am super happy with both of my cards ...

Stamps: Jar of Love, Gorgeous Grunge
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Vellum
Ink: Basic Gray, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories: Squares Framelits, Paper Piercing Tool/Mat, Everyday Jars Framelits, Flourish Thinlits, Silver Sequin Trim

Strawberries ... the grocery store has them on sale for an inSANELY good price this week, so I have them on the brain!! SOOOO super yummy. And it seems I get sucked into every single dang stamp set that comes out with fruit ... I don't know WHAT I would do without fruit in my diet. While I was in China our access to fruit was VERY limited (all of our meals were pre-determined for us, as in the restaurants were chosen ahead of time ... and we had practically NO FRUIT ... I was suffering!)!

Stamps: Fresh Fruit
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black, 2016-2018 In Color DSP Stack
Ink: Real Red, Garden Green, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon, Mini Stapler

Back to my closet reorganization ... we live in a house that is over 100 years old. I LOVE most things about my house ... but the closets are NOT on my list of those things!!! My bedroom closet is DINKY ... and I have WAY too many clothes (is that really a thing???)?? I have to completely tear it apart at least twice a year to make it so that I can at least close the door. I bought some containers and other things for hanging scarves up, so I am hoping that I can pull it into a more workable situation!

Next up??? Creative and wonderful Cindy Elam!!! She's as nice as she is talented ... so happy to call her my friend!

Stamp Review Crew - Endless Thanks Edition

What a crazy weekend I had!!! SOOOO much busy!!! SUPER glad I got to regroup and take a little time to stamp for this week's Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop. We are all playing with Endless Thanks (LOVELOVELOVE this set ... am SO sad that I recently "lost" the "best" script-y stamp ... it HAS to be in my stamp cave SOMEwhere!)!

This set is SO much fun!!! You can mix and match so many of the images in it to make such purdy things!!! I think the Peekaboo Peach is one of my most favoritist new In Colors. I really enjoyed matching it with and "older" In Color (Watermelon Wonder) and a couple of Stampin' Up "staple" colors (Pear Pizzazz And Daffodil Delight).

Stamps: Endless Thanks
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pear Pizzazz, 2016-2018 In Color DSP Stack
Ink: Peekaboo Peach, Pear Pizzazz, Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black
Accessories: Pearl Basics, Basic Black Baker's Twine

SEE WHAT I MEAN??? I LOVE the images!!! I LOVE the script-y sentiments that you can pair with the typed sentiments. I think it was the first set I bought when it came out a couple years ago.

So ... how CUTE is THIS??? My nephew is marrying my daughter's BFF (she introduced them over a year ago). And, as of last weekend, my daughter is engaged to marry my nephew's BFF (he introduced my daughter to his friend a year ago last March). They are going to make YEARS and YEARS of memories together. And now my daughter's BFF will be her "cousin-in-law" ... Hehehehe!

The "previous" button will take you to the wonderfully-amazing Rochelle Blok, and the "next" button to oh-so-incredible Holly Krautkremer!!

What Is Happening???

It's kind of amazing ... a "Christmas Miracle" if you will. I am writing a blog post that is NOT part of a blog hop of ANY kind!!! WHAT is happening??? How is this even POSSIBLE??? I haven't done this for quite some time!!! I'm trying to get back into the habit of posting more. Which means I am going to try to create more. Crazy, right???

I actually DID have a reason for making this card. I am hosting today's Free for All Challenge over on Splitcoaststampers. The challenge is to create something with some sort of frame on it (ANY shape or size ... stamped, diecut, punched, embossed ... any kind of frame!). I kind of have a "thing" for frames on my cards. I seem to keep coming back to it again and again. It has been my "go to" thing when I can't think of anything else!!

Stamps: Sunshine Sayings
Paper: Crumb Cake, Dapper Denim, Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla, Daffodil Delight
Ink: Dapper Denim, Whisper White
Accessories: Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Project Life Cards & Labels Thinlits, Flourish Thinlits, Tags & Labels Framelits, Large Polka Dots TIEF, Linen Thread

I'm getting excited for this weekend. Saturday, actually. We are throwing a bridal shower for my nephew's bride to be (who happens to be my daughter's BFF). I am going to be doing a LOT of cooking and goodie making until then!!! Getting SO excited for the wedding (which is going to be on July 30). It seems it was just yesterday that I was taking care of my nephew as a newborn!! Sheesh!!!

Monday Montage #73

Monday Montage is upon us again ... and I'm SUPER happy that I got to play with some of my "new" stamps and such again (I've had these for a while ... I seriously haven't been doing NEARLY enough stamping ... this whole ENTIRE year!) Life happens ...

The badge punch makes me SUPER happy (I think I said "SUPER happy" already once during this post, didn't I??)! I used this card for a recent swap I did of new catalog stuffs with my fellow Control Freak friends ... glad I can finally share it with you!

Stamps: Badges & Banners, Timeless Textures
Paper: Calypso Coral, Dapper Denim, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, 2016-2018 In Color Designer DSP Stack
Ink: Dapper Denim, Calypso Coral, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Duet Banner Punch, Best Badge Punch, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

So ... I was going on a short run the other day. As I was going through the cemetery (which is REALLY one of my favorite places ... beautiful, peaceful, shady) I started to walk up the hill. Mind you, I was WALKING!!! After all the running I have done since January, walking should NOT be a trick, right??? Well ... for those of you old enough to remember the spectacular "agony of defeat" footage from the old "Wide World of Sports" show ... yeah, that was me.. I had arms and legs flailing in EVERY direction. It took me SO long to fall that I actually had time to think about how I was going to land. Even with the foresight, I got some pretty good road rash on my hand and knee. Lucky for me, that's all I got. But my pride was severely hurt. Good thing there was no one there to see me (as least not as far as I could tell!)!!

Click "Back" for Melissa Stout and "Next" for Amy O'Neill ... Marvelous and Amazing, these women!!

Fab Friday #91

I'm beginning to think I am forgetting how to stamp!! I have SO much new stuff to play with ... and have hardly done any stamping lately ... Fab Friday to the rescue!!! My whole day yesterday was kinda low key ... started out busy, though!

I ran my mom to get her hair done. After dropping her off, I went for a run. And for those of you who remember, I did a pretty good imitation of the "agony of defeat" for the old Wide World of Sports intro. I was WALKING up a hill and totally did a FACE PLANT!!! And I did NOT go down gracefully. I fought it every inch of the way ... I am quite sure it was comically spectacular (had anyone been there to see me do it!). So after picking my mom back up and taking her on a couple of errands, I went home and took a shower and bandaged myself up. Had to go BACK to my mom's to take her to a doctor's appointment ... and after we were all done I came back home and did the whole icing/ibuprofen routine ... and did a LOT of podcast listening ... and a LOT of Xfinity On Demand. I need a vacation!

I DID sit down to make this card ... I am SO in love with the Swirly Bird stamp set and thinlits ... LOVE them!! (I said that already, right???)

Stamps: Swirly Bird, Thoughtful Banners
Paper: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Burlap Ribbon, Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim, Duet Banner Punch

I sorta overdid this sketch ... I started and just couldn't stop!!
