Stampin’ Fancy Friday - Shades of Purple Challenge

Not sure why I don’t reach for my purples more than I do … because I actually love purple AND all of the different shades that SU carries.

For this month’s Fancy Friday Challenge we are playing with Shades of Purple. And I think I used them all!

Since I had my sewing machine out for another project I had been working on, I decided to make a little “quilt” out of this card.

I used pieces of Highland Heather, Blackberry Bliss, Gorgeous Grape and Fresh Freesia. Cut into 1/2” strips, first I trimmed and positioned the pieces until I got a pattern I liked. I stamped, embossed and sewed on the strips until I came up with a combo I liked!

.

Adding some leaves from the Petals of Beauty Dies and some flowers cut in vellum using the same set, I created the focal point in the corner. Sometimes I have a hard time deciding when to quit!!

Stamps: Petals of Beauty, Words of Beauty
Paper: Basic White, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Blackberry Bliss, Fresh Freesia, Vellum
Ink: Blackberry Bliss Gorgeous Grape, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather
Accessories: Petals of Beauty Dies, Words of Beauty Dies, Beautiful Pattern 3D Embossing Folder, Lasting Linen 3D Embossing Folder, Drusy Adhesive-Backed Embellishments, Sewing Machine

How about you??? What is your favorite SU color (and what do you like to put with it to keep it looking kinda monochrome?)

Stampin’ Fancy Friday - Sparkle & Shine

Ooooooh! Shiiiiiiny! Spaaaaaarkly! That is what we are all about for this month’s Stampin’ Fancy’ Friday Challenge.

I realized when I sat down to create for this challenge that my supply of all things shiny and sparkly is sadly lacking!

But the dies … ooooohhhh the dies for this card! I am OBSESSED!!

I am admitting first off that I used some older glimmer paper and I can’t for the life of me remember what pack it is from! I cut out one of the Sentimental Frames Dies and the “BOO” letters with the glimmer paper, as well as using a scrap of it behind the little haunted house.

The background is Silver Foil embossed using the Joined Together 3D Embossing Folder. I also cut out an additional “BOO” from the Silver Foil.
The little bat flags are cut from Basic Black using one of the dies from the Spooky Halloween Dies, as well as the haunted house and gate … which I cut from Smoky Slate cardstock.

I also sponged the house and fence with some Black Memento Ink.

A few little Shimmer Star Foam Stickers and a little flag of Petunia Pop 1/4” Iridescent Ribbon were used to accent the main images and add a little pop to the card.

Stamps: None!
Paper: Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Silver Foil, Glimmer Paper (retired)
Ink: Black Memento
Accessories: Spooky Halloween Dies, Sentimental Framing Dies, Mini Alphabet Dies, Joined Together 3D Embossing Folder, Petunia Pop 1/4” Iridescent Ribbon, Shimmer Star Foam Stickers

Believe it or not, I have put up ALL my Halloween decor … inside and outside my house! I am going to be hiking in the Grand Canyon next weekend and wanted to get ahead of the game. Makes me happy!

Stampin’ Fancy Friday - In Color Challenge

The Stampin’ Fancy Friday Challenge this month is all about In Colors. Sooooo many choices … how is one to choose???

When I made this card last month the Spring Corners Dies and Stamps were still available. Alas, as time has passed they have sold out!

I love the little sunshine, for which I used both Timid Tiger and Darling Duckling (just the names alone make me smile!). They are both part of the 2025-2027 In Colors family. I sponged a little Darling Duckling ink onto the sun’s rays and onto the little flowers in the corners of the Lemon Lolly panel.

I once again used some Painterly Pairs DSP … every single sheet of it is gorgeous!

I used a needle to thread some White Baker’s Twine through the strip of DSP. I actually did an accordion fold on that strip of paper but it didn’t come through in the photo that way!

Stamps: Spring Corners
Paper: Basic White, Lemon Lolly, Darling Duckling, Timid Tiger, Painterly Pears DSP
Ink: Darling Duckling, Versamark
Accessories: Spring Corners Dies, 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls, White Baker’s Twine, White Embossing Powder
