Arched Wishes

I sent out a LOT of birthday cards … to family … and I do mean a LOT!! I think I am approaching 125-ish family members who get birthday greetings from me (which is why most of the cards I post have birthday sentiments).

I seem to have a lower supply of cards for kids, so I am trying to replenish it!

Thank heavens for the Arched Wishes Stamp Set … it seems to be universal for any age!

Who doesn’t like a balloon on their birthday?? I started with Blackberry Bliss for the card base since it seems that I neglect this color WAY too much!

I used the coordinating Everyday Arches Dies to compliment my little bundle of balloons.

I also chose to add white dots to EVERYthing on this card (the balloons and the backgrounds) as well as using my Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker to add little “stitches” around the outer arch.

This really came together pretty quickly … I LOVE it when than happens!

Stamps: Arched Wishes
Paper: Basic White, Pool Party, Strawberry Slush, Blackberry Bliss, Bubble Bath
Ink: Pool Party, Strawberry Slush, Blackberry Bliss, Versamark, White Gel Pen
Accessories:  Everydayy Arches Dies, White Embossing Powder, 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls

Wishing you all a lovely week!!

Beautiful Butterflies & Impressions Abloom

Is there such a thing as using TOO many die sets on one card??? Two … three … FOUR???

Yeah, yeah, yeah … I am one of THOSE people! I used FOUR sets of dies on this card (and I’m still telling myself somewhere in the back of my brain that making your own cards is cheaper than buying them … even though my husband doesn’t believe that any more!)!

This is actually the second version of this card that I made. I used Basic White as the base of this card originally and did not really like how it looked. So, of course, I had to tear it all apart and try it again!

On this second try I used Pool Party as the base. I used both my White Craft Ink reinker and a white gel pen to make a pattern of “dots” on it.

I used an aqua brush and some ink to add some color to the postage squares, as well as flicking ink on them (which you know is my new favorite thing!).

I also used the white gel pen to add dots to the centers on some of the flowers as well.

Lots of 2024-2026 In Colors on this one as well! Where has Shy Shamrock been??? I’ve had it and it has kind of gotten forgotten! Not any more!!

Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies, Impressions Abloom
Paper: Basic White, Pool Party, Strawberry Slush, Peach Pie, Pretty in Pink, Shy Shamrock, Basic Black
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, White Craft, White Gel Pen
Accessories:  Beautiful Butterflies Dies, Impressions Abloom Dies, Perennial Postage Dies, Textured Notes Dies, 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearl

Birthday Celebration

I don’t allow myself to do this very often, but I love the Everyday Happiness DSP soooo much that it just kinda happened.

I used the DSP for almost everything on this card, which is usually something I don’t lean on as hard. The only “inked” parts are the sentiment and the little flag banner. All of the flowers and the little pocket are from Everyday Happiness … it’s just too pretty!

This came together pretty quickly … except the fussy cutting of the flowers and banner. I have never disliked fussy cutting. It’s very relaxing!

Stamps: Birthday Celebration
Paper: Basic White, Lost Lagoon, Everyday Happiness DSP
Ink: Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Versamark
Accessories:  Birthday Celebration Dies, Muted Palette Dots, Gold Embossing Powder

I got a sneak peek at the next Online Exclusives AND the upcoming Mini Catalog … man oh man am I in trouble!! Y’all will have to stay tuned, but I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!

TGIF #334 - Product Challenge - White Gel Pen

This week the TGIF Team is playing with white gel pens! I love what a little bit of white “lining” can do for a card!

Check out the blog challenge here - TGIF Challenge Blog if you’d like to play along.

This one took a while! It took me more than one try to get the look I wanted.

I used some watercolor brushes to paint these pretty sunflowers. First, I used the Sunflower 3D Embossing folder on a piece of Basic White Cardstock. I also distressed the edges of the cardstock with the edge of one of the blades of my paper snips.

The watercolor brushes were either dipped in a little bit of reinker or, for the colors I didn’t have any reinker for, I just dragged the tip of the watercolor brushes over the stamp pads of the color I wanted to use.

After I was done “painting” the sunflowers, I added some lines and dots using a white gel pens. I also used a Black Journaling Pen to lightly trace around and through the sunflowers to make them pop a little more.

Stamps: More Messages
Paper: Whisper White, Peach Pie, Mossy Meadow, Soft Sea Foam
Ink: Berry Burst, Peach Pie, Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Pecan Pie, Mossy Meadow, Soft Sea Foam, White Gel Pen, Black Stampin’ Journaling Pen
Accessories:  Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder, Mixed Labels Dies, Low Profile Sparkle Gems

Another summer weekend ahead with NO major things I HAVE to do or places I HAVE to go! That rarely happens, so I plan to enjoy it!

We’d love to have you play along!! You can check us out our blog HERE and Instagram … lots of great inspiration from the rest of the TGIF Crew!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Sketch Challenge #467

Today I’m doing something NEW! I’m playing along with Hand Stamped Sentiments! I’ve never participated in one of their challenges before, so I am pretty excited about it!

If yo would like to participate as well, check it out here:

I had this little bunch of strawberries that I had colored for another card last week (which I haven’t posted yet, apparently!). I decided to use it to build the card for this sketch.

The DSP is from Storybook Moments. There isn’t a single piece of paper in that package that I don’t love!

Most of this card came together pretty quickly. With the exception of fussy cutting the “a happy day” sentiment that had been heat embossed, nothing in this card was too labor intense.

Actually … that may not entirely be true. I made the braid out of double strands of White Baker’s Twine! I used six strands divided into twos to make the braid. Simple but fun!

Stamps: Linked Together, Storybook Friends
Paper: Basic White, Misty Moonlight, Basic Beige, Storybook Moments DSP
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Berry Burst; Stampin’ Blends - Pool Party, Berry Burst, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Linked Together Dies, Textured Notes Dies, 3D Eyelet Embossing Folder, White Embossing Powder, White Baker’s Twine, Low Profile Sparkle Dots

I’ll be back tomorrow with another card that showcases a different package of DSP … totally love it!

TGIF Challenge #531 - Theme Challenge

Happy Friday! TGIF!!

This week’s challenge is a theme challenge. The photo to the left is from the Welcome Garden Kit. Isn’t it cute??? We were tasked with coming up something evoking a garden gate. Pretty fun, right??

Let’s get at it!

Check out the blog challenge here - TGIF Challenge Blog if you’d like to play along.

This card came about from an absolute mishmash of products! The little garden gate was created using dies from Notes & Totes and Everyday Arches. The leaves came from Mixed Labels Dies and the flowers came from Impressions Abloom Dies. I used the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder for the “garden-y” background. And the sentiment came from the Arched Wishes stamp set.

The Mossy Meadow & Gold Trim as well as the Low Profile Sparkle Dots both came from the soon-to-be-released Painted Pears suite. So this card truly is a little of this and a little of that!

Stamps: Arched Wishes
Paper: Basic White, Soft Sea Foam, Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape, Mossy Meadow
Ink: Gorgeous Grape
Accessories: Notes and Totes Dies, Impressions Abloom Dies, Mixed Labels Dies, Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder, Low Profile Sparkle Dots, Mossy Meadow & Gold 1/4” Trim

Our family is heading up to Bear Lake for the weekend … one of our favorite summer getaways!

TGIF Challenge #525 - Paper Flowers!

Happy Friday!! It’s TGIF Challenge time and this week we are using paper flowers as our inspiration.

Check out the blog challenge here - TGIF Challenge Blog if you’d like to play along!

Aren’t ALL flowers we put on our cards PAPER flowers??? (well … I am sure there are SOME exceptions, but if we are going to be literal I choose to believe that these fit the bill!)

I borrowed Bree’s Mixed Florals stamp set while I was at her house a couple of weeks ago, I stamped the images but didn’t even try to color them until last week … and then I didn’t cut them out and make a card out of them until a few days ago.

I am IN LOVE with the Everyday Happiness Patterned Paper. The colors are soft and beautiful and look GORGEOUS together!!

I used my Stampin’ Blends to color the images. I colored a little bit of “shadow” around each of the images with a Pool Party Blend. I didn’t bring the dies with me, so I did the fussy cutting thing.

I used a white gel pen to add little dots and accent lines to the leaves and flowers. Cute, right??

Using the Everyday Arches Dies (my new FAVORITE set of dies!) and the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder to complete the background. I used a white gel pen to add little dots and accent lines to the leaves and flowers. Cute, right??

Using the Everyday Arches Dies (my new FAVORITE set of dies!) and the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder to complete the background. After using the Plaster Painting 3D Embossing folder I just HAD to “flick” the background with my Stampin’ Blends.

Stamps: Mixed Florals, More Messages
Paper: Basic White, Lemon Lolly, Basic Black, Everyday Happiness DSP
Ink: Versamark, Black Memento; Stampin’ Blends - Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lolly, Lost Lagoon, Real Red, Mossy Meadow, White Gel Pen
Accessories: Everyday Arches Dies, More Messages Dies, Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder, White Baker’s Twine, White Embossing Powder, Muted Palette Dots

I’m doing ANOTHER race tomorrow as part of the Huntsman Heroes team ..  the Ogden Half Marathon. I think I’m ready!

Monday Montage - Tiled Techniques

Thumbnail

How can it be Monday again already??!!?? At least I stamped ahead and had a card all ready to go! Welcome back for another round of Monday Montage!

Since the 2025-2026 Stampin’ Up Catalog will be going LIVE tomorrow (05/06/25), I am sharing a few of my favorite retiring items … specifically, the Tiled Technqiues stamp set and some very pretty Moody Mauve cardstock.

I cut the front panel of this card in half, so it is only 2.75” from the top fold to the bottom edge of the front panel. That way I was able to take advance of the “medallion” I made from the Spotlight On Nature Dies and the images I stamped using Tiled Techniques.

Here’s what it looks like inside when you lift the front flap with the medallion up. Just the right amount of space for a little greeting!

I’m sooo happy that the Eyelet 3D Embossing folder is sticking around for another year. It has fast become a favorite of mine!

I shall really miss the Moody Mauve cardstock … it’s such a beautiful and rich color.

Stamps: Tiled Techniques
Paper: Basic White, Moody Mauve, Pretty in Pink, Basic Gray
Ink: Basic Gray, Moody Mauve, Pretty in Pink, Versamark
Accessories: Spotlight On Nature Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder, White Embossing Powder, Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink Gems

My friend, Cheryl Curtis, and I have been visiting our other bestie - Bree Renwick - up in Walla Walla since last Thursday. It has been the BEST time! (Both of these ladies are also part of the Monday Montage Crew!) We ate, laughed, shopped, stamped and enjoyed our time together soooo much! Can’t wait to get together and do it again (hopefully sooner rather than later!)

All Zipped Up!

I was not gonna get this “All Zipped Up” bundle. Nope. Not even. It was a big ol’ “meh” from me.

Untiiiiiillllll I started seeing sample from the many amazing Stampin’ Up demos who HAD caved to the purchase and started to play with it (which is something that happens way more often than I would like to admit)! OF COURSE I had to add it to my cart and complete the purchase (which is something that happens way more often than I would like to admit!)!

Funny story … in the same box of goodies in which the “All Zipped Up” bundle arrived I got some very lovely packages of DSP. One of them is called “Everyday Happiness”, which I decided to use on this card. I checked the back of the package to see exactly which colors are used in it so that I could choose the colors for my card. I decided to use Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock and a dash of Darling Duckling (which was NOT on the list of colors used, but I figured it worked good enough as a substitute for the Very Vanilla that WAS used).

I went to my stash (drawers of file folders that have individual files for each color) and plucked out a piece of Pretty Peacock to use for the zipper and the sentiment. I returned to the drawer because I wanted to use some more Pretty Peacock for the base. Hmmm … brand new package of Pretty Peacock, unopened no less, and it did NOT match the scrap I had removed from this same said file 15 minutes earlier. It took me a bit of sleuthing to deduce that the color I had used was Just Jade (an In Color from a few years back) … at least I’m pretty sure that was what color I used as I had no other pieces with which to compare it! It was a pretty good match so I decided to just roll with it1

I decided at the last moment to add some little string pulls for the “hood” of this jacket. Just some Basic White Baker’s Twine that I crocheted into a little cording. Cute, eh?

So here is my All Zipped Up card using JUST JADE and NOT Pretty Peacock! I did not want to rip the whole thing apart and start over with the correct color … plain and simple!

Stamps: All Zipped Up
Paper: Basic White, Darling Duckling, Just Jade, Lost Lagoon, Everyday Happiness DSP
Ink: Lost Lagoon, Versamark
Accessories: All Zipped Up Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, Basic White Baker’s Twine, 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls

I am currently up in Walla Walla hanging out with my two crafty besties, Bree and Cheryl! We are eating, shopping, crafting and laughing … that’s what I call a perfect match!

Stampin’ Fancy Friday - Sketch Challenge

Thumbnail

It’s my turn for this month’s Stampin’ Fancy Friday Challenge. This month we had a GREAT sketch to work with … I always love a good sketch for inspiration, don’t you???

This little Party Piggy … what’s NOT to like??? I think the intention is to use a small circle shaker dome to make the pig’s belly the best sort of shaker card. I decided to take this in a different direction.

First I stamped the piggy’s head and body using Black Memento Ink. I then did some tone-on-tone coloring using my Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends to add some highlights.

I then used the accompanying dies to cut the piggy out!

Using a die from Spotlight On Nature, I centered the cut circle to catch a piece of the pattern in the 3D Cute Crochet Embossing Folder.

Using a sponge and some Petal Pink ink, I then proceeded to highlight my embossing circle (which I then used for the piggy’s belly!).

Stamps: Party Piggy
Paper: Petal Pink, Basic White
Ink: Black Memento, Petal Pink; Stampin’ Blends - Lt. and Dk. Petal Pink
Accessories: Spotlight On Nature Dies, Party Piggy Dies, Basic Black and Vanilla Large Checked Ribbon, Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems

Monday Montage - Cake Celebrations

Welcome back for another fun round of beautiful projects from the Monday Montage crew! I have said it before and I will say it again … these ladies are ridiculously talented and I am grateful to learn from them and count them as my friends.

I’m trying really hard to use new (to me!) color combos … I seem to get stuck in my favorite “tried and true” combos and let a lot of other lovely cardstock in my stash go neglected! I need to work on that more! Actually, one of my favorite colors of all time in Stampin’ Up history is Early Espresso. I used to use it all the time on just about every project! It has been sadly neglected, so I decided to pair it up with another one of my newer favorites, Lemon Lolly! It’s the perfect, lovely shade of yellow!  I struggled on deciding what colors to use for the flowers and leaves … I ultimately went with Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green (which I also LOVE!).

I used my Stampin’ Blends a lot on this card … just not for actual coloring! I have been doing a lot of “flicking” of color from the tips of those pens lately (you need to do it carefully so as not to break down the tips of the markers). You just take the tip of the marker and flick it from the inside of the markers cap toward the paper where you want it to land. I used the Dark Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends to add spots to the Lemon Lolly cardstock that the cake layers are made from. I also used this same technique to color the white background behind the cake - I used Pecan Pie and Calypso Coral. I love how tasty it makes the background look! If you look VERY closely you will see that I used some Wink of Stella on the chocolate ganache dripping from the tops of both tiers of cake!

One again I need to sing the praised of the Everyday Arches Dies … I shall struggle NOT to use them on every single card I make!

Stamps: Cake Celebrations
Paper: Lemon Lolly, Early Espresso, Calypso Coral, Granny Apple Green, Basic White
Ink: Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green; Stampin’ Blends - Dark Lemon Lolly, Dark Calypso Coral, Light Pecan Pie
Accessories: Everyday Arches Dies, Cake Celebrations Dies, Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder, Ombe Matte Decorative Dots

Have a happy week!

Linked Together

Holy moley! I am AT LAST playing with all the Linked Together Bundle parts and I am OBSESSED!!

The bundle comes with stamps, dies and decorative masks … so I decided to use some of ALL of the parts!

I started by using one of the Decorative Masks and some Soft Sea Foam ink (I honestly don’t know WHY I don’t use this color all the time … it’s beautiful!). I then used some Country Woods DSP and cut the lattice die from. The flowers and leaves were cut from more dies in the Linked Together Dies. I had lots of fun cutting and layering flowers in Basic White, Lemon Lolly and Pool Party.

I used some Ombré Matte Decorative Dots (Pool Party) as the centers in the fanciest of the layered flowers I made. Do you see the three little Pool Party dots on the upper outside curve of the sentiment panel? Those were some of the centers that were cut from the little Pool Party flowers I had cut. The cute centers were sitting on my table and they looked sooo fun … I just had to use them!!

I stamped the two styles of sentiments on Basic White cardstock and they just fussy cut around them and adhered them to the Soft Sea Form Oval Die I had cut.for the sentiment panel.

Stamps: Linked Together
Paper: Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party, Lemon Lolly, Basic White, Country Woods DSP
Ink: Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party
Accessories: Linked Together Dies, Linked Together Decorative Masks, Ombe Matte Decorative Dots

Getting closer to the Salt Lake City Half Marathon Run as a member of the Huntsman Heroes Running Team (it’s April 26)! LOVE running with my team and raising money for cancer research!

Monday Montage - Blue Butterflies

I will be heading to meet up with a whole BUNCH of my Stampin’ Up buddies starting on Wednesday this week … and I am soooo not ready (just with the stuff I need to do BEFORE I leave!)!

I did actually get a card made for this week’s Monday Montage, though! So I consider that a good thing!

Beautiful Butterflies … what’s NOT to love??? I think my favorite part of this card is the strip of Lemon Lolly with the stamped butterfly wings on it. Such a pretty image to use!

I also rubbed the Azure Afternoon cardstock layer with a sponge and ink after I used the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. Love me some dimension!

Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies, Elements of Text
Paper:  Basic White, Night of Navy, Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lolly, Balmy Blue
Ink: Night of Navy, Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lolly
Accessories: Spotlight On Nature Dies, Perennial Postage Dies, Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder, White 3/8” Frayed Grosgrain, Ombré Matte Decorative Dots

Is there such a thing as too many layers??? I think not!

Wish me luck on getting my act pulled together before I leave! I reaaaaaallly am going to love some “down and crafty” time with my Stampin’ friends … it’s been too long!

TGIF Challenge #497 - Color Challenge

Welcome to this week’s TGIF Challenge!! Such a fun autumnal color combo … and I didn’t actually do a fall-themed card! THAT was the challenge for me!

The Umbrella Days Bundle just screams “Christopher Robin” to me … without Pooh, of course! This little person has a sweet little doggie for a companion instead!

I not only used the Umbrella Days Dies, but the Deckled Rectangles and some raindrops from the Bright Skies Dies as well!

I used my Watercolor Brush and some paper-pieced bits to make the image with the umbrella.

The umbrella itself is make using a combo of a stamped image, water coloring for the little human and paper piecing AND water coloring on the umbrella itself! I love how it adds texture!

Stamps: Umbrella Days
Paper: Basic White, Pecan Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Country Woods 12x12 DSP
Ink: Memento Black, Pecan Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Ivory Stampin’ Blend
Accessories: Umbrella Days Dies, Deckled Rectangles Dies, Bright Skies Dies, Pecan Pie Adhesive-Backed Dots, Natural 3/8” Polka Dot Trim

Monday Montage Pumpkin Patch

Time to celebrate fall and get crafty with my Monday Montage pals again! I always look forward to their awesome creations. They truly inspire me!

This card took me waaaaayyy longer than it should have because I just couldn’t decide what to do with all the pretty pumpkins.

In the end, I stamped them and then used a sponge dauber to add highlighted colors at the bottom (the large pumpkins in the middle were stamped with Pumpkin Pie and daubered with Cajun Craze; the medium-sized pumpkins in the background with the vines were stamped with Peach Pie and daubered with Pumpkin Pie; the little pumpkins are straight up Pumpkin Pie!).

I mixed up the greens on this as well. The pumpkin toppers were all done with Mossy Meadow, while the vines are Old Olive.

I then flecked the background using my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend pen. Love me a good lil’ ol’ pumpkin patch, don’t you??

(And this is a sneak peek on the Modern Herringbone Embossing Folder which I LOOOOVE!)

Stamps: Scenic Pumpkin Patch, Best Family Ever
Paper:  Basic White, Crumb Cake
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Crumb Cake Versamark

Monday Montage #266

Whoosh! And just like THAT summer is just about over! Sheesh! So happy that I got a new box of goodies over the weekend so I could play with them for this week’s Monday Montage!

I was looking back through some old photos and came across a technique I did on a card YEARS ago … which inspired me on this card! I didn’t use the same technique, but I kinda made up a new one myself!

Stick with me here … first, I embossed a piece of Basic White cardstock using the 3D Eyelet Embossing Folder. I then inked up the Leaf Collection background stamp with Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lolly and Pumpkin Pie. Next, I placed the piece of Basic White (with the 3D Eyelet embossing) face down onto the stamp. I then carefully held the cardstock down while I used my brayer to press the cardstock into the stamp. With me so far?

Finally, after lifting up the Basic White cardstock piece I could see that the pattern from the 3D Eyelet Embossing Folder was evident on the inked background stamp, so I placed a clean piece of Basic White cardstock down onto the stamp and used the brayer again to transfer the ink. Get it?? So the pattern from the embossing folder shows up in the stamped image! Pretty cool, right??

Here is a closeup view of the effect. I really like how it turned out!

I made two pockets using the Pocket Thoughts Dies … one in Granny Apple Green, which I embossed with the 3D Eyelet Embossing Folder, and one from the stamped piece that I did earlier. I made inserts for each of the pockets as well. They can both be written on, as well as the inside of the card!

Used my favorite White 3/8” Grosgrain Frayed Ribbon to make a bow. Oh! And I also used the Keeping Tabs Bundle to create the sentiment … I love it!

Stamps: Leaf Collection, Keeping Tabs
Paper:  Basic White, Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Lolly
Accessories: 3D Eyelet Embossing Folder, Keeping Tabs Dies, Blooming Pearls, White 3/8” Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon
