Happy Independence Day!

It's once again time to celebrate the birth of America ... or at least give Americans an excuse to get together with friends/family and EAT!! I love the 4th of July ... the weather is hot, the company is great and the fireworks are always so festive. Good times!!

I tried to make a patriotic insert for my Simply Adorned necklace charm LAST year ... actually made two or THREE attempts at it and didn't like ANY of 'em!! While I was Skyping with my BFF, Kathy, yesterday I happened to mention that I wanted to make one but didn't want to since I had no success before ... all she said was, "You need a little flag that you can stamp as the background" and I just went, "Duh!!" I have had this "God Bless America" stamp from SU for YEARS!! I got it in 2002 to be exact ... it was made to help raise money for the victims of 9/11. It was actually the second thing I ever bought from SU (the first being the set called "Wildflowers" to adorn a little nanny bench I bought for my daughter for Christmas one year). My friend, Shellee, asked me if I'd like to buy one to support the cause ... which I did, but I remember thinking, "What am I gonna do with this?" after I got it!

Long story short, Shellee is now my upline ... so there! And now I have a fun piece of jewelry I can wear to celebrate the day. Hope all y'all have a wonderful day wherever you are! Smiley from millan.net

Stamps: God Bless America
Paper: Whisper White. Pacific Point, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Pacific Point, Cherry Cobbler

Freakin' Summertime Fun!

Summertime ... and the stampin' is eaaaaaasss-yyyyy .... AND I'M the FIRST STOP this month!! YAY!! If you are following along our amazing tour, you just came from the FABOO projects made by Melanie Schulenberg (she is the caboose!). Awesome, right?

LOOKIE MY OWLIES!! Isn't this little ol' owl punch just DA BOMB??!!?? I {{{HEART}}} IT!! What, you ask, do owls have to do with summer? Well, I just spent this past weekend floating down the Green River with some friends. We have been doing river trips for YEARS. One of my FAVE things about these river trips is the wildlife ... and the BIRDS!!! I have seen some of the most AMAZING birds up-close-and-personal over the years. Bald eagles, Osprey, owls ... more birds than I can possibly list. Sooooo wonderful!!

My second card is a really citrus-y money holder. I hope Tart and Tangy never retires. It fits well with soo many things!

See the inside? (And before anyone says anything about how they would like to receive this card because of the BEAUTIFUL $50 bill ... STOP!! I NEVER have cash ... my daughter owed me $$ for an iPod we got, and happened to have cash from a job she recently did, so she paid me with BIG money. That's why I had it ...)
