I'm Still Here ...

... believe it or NOT!!!

I have been sooooo busy stamping ... but not anything that I can share with ya for a little while (currently working on 24 samples that I am doing for SU Convention display boards!)!  They are due on Friday, so hopefully I can get back to a more normal routine AFTER that!!

I needed to send a card out to my nephew again this week, so I decided to pull out my new "Wetlands" stamp set.  I can already tell that this is going to become a new fave of mine ... for those all-to-hard-to-come-up-with DUDE cards!! YAY!!

Stamps: Wetlands
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz, Baked Brown Sugar
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Paper Piercing Essentials, Paper Distressing Tool, Naturals Trim Ribbon, Naturals Designer Button, Linen Thread, Sponge

Last Monday we had the EVER-SO-AMAZING opportunity to fly in a B-17 (the Aluminum Overcast).  YES!! You read that RIGHT!! See????  There are only about 12 of these babies actually in good enough condition to fly, so this was a really incredible opportunity!

Not only did we get to fly IN it (to Denver!), we got to actually FLY it OURSELVES!!! Probably one of the all-time NEATEST things I have EVER got to do!!  (This is me sitting in the nose cone ... glass EVERYwhere ... it was odd that it didn't totally freak me out considering my "issue" with heights!!  Sooooo AWESOME!)

Having my husband and daughter there with me (as well as some of our bestest friends) made it all the sweeter ... here am I with my husband standing at "waistgunner" ... such a humbling experience as we thought about and were grateful for all the young boys who gave their lives in defense of our freedom ...

And with my daughter behind "the right seat" ...

It was a VERY long day (we were up at 5:00 a.m. and didn't get back home to Salt Lake until about midnight), but I'm NOT complaining!!! LOVED every minute of it!!

How awesome!! They're incredible to see but to actually fly one and ride it to Denver and back.....ahhh Heaven!! Could you just die thinking of all the "action" that plane has flown in. Hopefully it brought all who were in it back home safely.
Oh! Love your card, too!!! Got a little distracted there!

Fabulous card for your nephew! And I am surmising from your comment that our guys don't have to be hunters to appreciate a stamp set like this one. Thank you for the inspiration! I need to share your pictures with my husband, he will be green with envy, especially that you got to fly and in the spaces you were in! TFS~
