Reflections ...

I have spent the past few days in the ICU with my mom. Although she is making slow progress, we are confident that she will be out of the hospital in the next few days. I have been able to have my laptop with me, which has truly been a blessing, as I have slowed down enough to start work on a scrapbook using My Digital Studio that I hope to be able to give my mom for Christmas. I scanned a LOT of photos of Mom and Dad when I put together a slideshow for Dad's viewing last June. This has given me the perfect excuse to actually get this project completed ...

By the way, the little girl with the dolly in the picture is ME!

I have thought so much lately about all of the sacrifices my parents had to make in order to provide our family with a wonderful life. They have always been so supportive in everything we have done. I am, once again, counting my blessings and feeling so much gratitude to have belonged to such a great set of parents!!

This is a photograph of my dad when he was a baby. What a beautiful boy!! My grandmother was DESPERATE for a girl ... he was boy #4 ... she even had some little "dresses" she put him in that she bought while she was pregnant (all wishful thinking). I think they were nightshirts, pretty much. How could she NOT love this face, though??

I won't have a lot of time to make cards this week, as my time will be spent being a support to Mom as she has always been to me. I will be back periodically, though ...

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom! I did wonder why I hadn't heard from you, but thought you must be busy with the holiday and family. Sweet page! Talk to you later, girlfriend!

Wendy, good for you that you are taking this time to be with your mom. I lost my mom about 3 years ago and I still miss her, every day! Be with your mom as much as you can...they are gone too soon!

Wendy,
You know you and your Mom are in my thoughts and prayers. Could we send some Thinking of you cards to her? Just know you being there is so great for your Mom and we can just suffer without your beautiful cards a while. I do so love your digital scrapbooking though and I know your Mother will really treasure it.
Much love,
Jeanine

She will love the scrapbook pages that you are putting together for her and your dad. It is so thoughtful of you and very time consuming which will help you during this time.

Wendy, I am so sorry your mom has been so ill. My mom went into the hospital today. It is hard watching our parents get older and suffer from so many illnesses. Wishing you God's blessings Wendy.

Wendy,
Glad your Mom is on the mend! Your layouts are wonderful - I love the stories you've shared in the blog that go with them. You should keep those (perhaps hidden if you don't want to mess up the lovely layouts?) as some future generation won't know the back-story!
Take care of yourself, too.
Hugs.
