Movin' On to Scrapbooks - Day 6 - Parade of UnAward Winning Artisan Projects

I love doing scrapbook pages. That is actually where I started my papercrafting journey over 10 years ago ... and I don't DARE show you what kinds of things I was creating back then. Remember all those crazy decorative-edge scissors? And the templates we used to cut out our pictures in heart, circle and star shapes?? Oh my goodness!! We've come a loooong way since then, baby!!

I am fortunate enough to have access to a whole SLEW of photos from my grandparents. I was actually very instrumental in helping my aunts and uncles put together a family history book for their side of the family. It took over three years to assemble, but it is a treasure like none other. AND, I have tons and TONS of pictures on CD and on my computer ... which is what led me to create this layout featuring my Grandpa's farm. Smiley from millan.net What Grandpa probably wouldn't have given for a mower like this, right??

Jan also created some AWESOME layouts as part of her Artisan submission. Check it out:

Jan's Terrific Layout

I have had more than one person ask in the comments (which have been lovely, btw ... thanks!) if there was somewhere they could see who/what actually WON the Artisan Award contest. Although I have seen posts acknowledging some of WHO won, we won't be able to see WHAT they created until we see the Artisan Award Winner display boards at Convention here in Salt Lake City at the end of July. I will take some photos so that I can share them with ya!!

Stamps: Autumn Days
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, To the Nines Specialty Paper
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip Craft
Accessories: On Board Lots of Letters, Circle Scissor, Swirls Scribbles Sizzlits Die, Spiral Border Punch, Paper Distressing Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Sponge

Wendy, I got to blog from Jan Tink's blog and just loving this page. I have so many photo's like these that I have not scrapped yet. I started with card making and it has been hard for me to venture to SBing. I love your page and really enjoying your sample cards. Thanks so much! Linda

This is a great layout and will pass the test of time. About yesterday's card I meant to mention how sweet that a doghouse was included. TFS

What a great page about your family history, Wendy! We have some pictures like this from my FIL's side of the family, and sadly he had dementia for 7 years before he passed away a month ago. He knew who all these people were, but no one thought to write it all down, and I'm afraid there isn't anyone now who knows all that stuff! Perhaps my MIL knows - but she's 93. She is still quite sharp, but it's not her side of the family, so I'm not sure if she would know.

What a great scrapbook page to go in your family album!!

Wendy, I've really loved all the "Unwinner" cards you've shown over the last few days (hey, Day 5 you totally outdid yourself, girl!!). This page with your Grandpa on the farm is fantastic as well. Thank you so much for sharing and just for providing such wonderful inspiration.
