Another Pocket Card . . .

I had sooo much fun creating the little turkey pocket card that I did for the Freaks Blog Hop the other day, that I decided to create yet ANOTHER one!! (I have had a serious cold and some jetlag going on since we got home last week, so it is amazing that I have stamped ANYthing, since my thought processes are clogged up due to the congestion in my head!!)

I used yesterday's color challenge on SCS - CC237 - as inspiration for my project.

First, I cut a Very Vanilla piece of cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/4". Next, I made one score line on the 8 1/2" side at 4 1/4"; then, I scored 1/2" in from each edge of the 5 1/4" side.

Next, I folded the cardstock on the line I scored at 4 1/4", then cut out the 1/2" x 4 1/4" rectangles created by the score lines in the lower right- and left-hand corners of the cardstock (I hope this makes sense). This left me with a piece of cardstock that had two 1/2" flaps that I used to adhere the card closed. (It helps if you cut a small triangle off at the bottom of the flap - the edge closest to the 4 1/4" score line - just so that the flap will lie flatter when you close it all up).

Don't worry, friends. If all this mumbo-jumbo is confusing YOU (and it is even confusing ME and I wrote it!). I plan on doing a video tutorial soon to show you exactly how this works.

To create the scallop frame, I used my scallop border punch, the 1 3/4" circle punch and the circle scissor. It will sound worse than the instructions I put above if I try to type out step-by-step instructions on how I did it, so you will see what I did in the tutorial. The hints I can easily give you are that (1) I used a 3 1/8" square of cardstock for the black piece, and (2) I used a 2 1/2" square piece of cardstock for the Rich Razzleberry piece. Confusing enough??? I hope not!!

Stamps: Charming
Paper: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry
Ink: Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry (markers)
Accessories: Scallop border punch, 1 3/4" and 1/2" circle punches, clear ice rhinestone brads, Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon, circle scissor

Have a great day! I have many things to do, as we will be having an open house celebrating my son's homecoming on Sunday after church (and I think there will be more than 100 people in my house, so I gotta get cleaning and figure out what I am going to FEED everyone!! Too bad I don't have one of those backerei or conditorei places from Germany handy!!)

Oh this is going to be so fun done on the video. Sorry you got a cold, it always seems people get sick when they come home from a vacation. How about for food for Sunday make up a sandwich platter using those little buns and a fruit platter? Better yet, have your local grocery store deli make one up for you. Have a great time.
