Passages ...

It almost seems as though you blink and whole chunks of time just pass you by. I honestly feel like the older I get, the more rapidly things go whizzing past ...

My youngest daughter graduated from high school yesterday. Can I have a do-over? I sooo miss the days when my kids were small (I thought at the time I had NO control over my life ... little did I know that the REAL "no control" zone was during the teen years!). It is such a bittersweet thing. While I am thrilled at her accomplishments and excited for the things she will experience the next few years as she heads off to college, I am sad for the passage of time and the things that I won't get to go back and do again ... sigh ...

I made her this card yesterday morning while she was getting ready to go. While it was REALLY fun to play with some of my new SU goodies, I couldn't help but reflect on so many of the events that had transpired to get her to this special day. No idea where the time went ...

Stamps: Stippled Blossoms, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Always Artichoke, Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant
Ink: Always Artichoke, Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: Whisper White Satin/Organza Ribbon, Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Folder, Word Window Punch

Here is my baby ... and I actually made her the lei with the flowers around her neck figured paper flowers would last longer than "real" ones ...

Smiley from millan.netNow if I could just get the antibiotics to kick in so my sinus infection would go away ... sigh ... would LOVE for this to pass on by!!

Wendy-
A Beautiful card for a Beautiful Daughter! Yes, time is quickly moving past me too! My four children are all grown and having families of there own (Will have 7 grandkids by Jan.) and I'm still young-right! LOL

The best part (so I hear) are the coming years - the part where you become better friends and get to have grandkids.

I love the simplicity of this card.. you know I'm all about textures, focal point, embellishments that all all add, but never distract from the focal point. Well Done!!!
And of course, Amelia looks beautiful and ready to take on the world....which I'm sure she'll do in a "smashing" way!!! Best of Luck!!!

I hope you don't mind that I shared your photo on my blog. I fell in love with this card the moment I saw it and knew I had to make it for myself. I shared it at my last technique night as well and all the ladies were oohing and aahing over it. I was sure to give you credit! You come up with beautiful projects, Wendy! I'm so glad you're on the Artisan team this year! Can't wait to see all the beautiful and inspiring things you come up with!
